Lyrics to 'Maybe' here, if anyone cares.

Anyone been able to do anything with the filename or is that some randomly generated mishmash?

I also did. Obviously, when I google'd it, your post came up, lol.

Was anybody able to erase the static?

Maybe this needs to be viewed in Spectrograph *resounding sigh in background*

Whaaat? It's not like it'll be hard to the magnitude of last week's PA hunt.

Did you get the original email? I'm wondering if Station 8 peeps were targeted or something.

Si, I did. That's a valid theory.

*clears throat*

Please raise your hand if you are both on the list of original recievers, and on Station 8.

Station 8? 0_o

I've just looked back through the emails in this thread... What's station 8?

I received an email with the mp3 attachment... but I wasn't part of Station 8 (also not sure what that is - I've been away for a long while).

I'm not seeing much of anything in the spectrogram yet. *fiddles with it some more*

I didn't get the original, but I haven't been coresponding with Gracie, either (though I did get the trailhead). I just sent an "Are you okay?" msg and got the auto-reply w/o attachment... So I guess we're looking for a rabbithole. I've shown this a couple other times, but I'll do it here too...

Looking for a site that you think you might know the name of? Yeah, I know, run a whois, blah, blah. How about this? Check for that site in virtually all domains. At the same time:

http://www.europeregistry.com/

This allows you to search if a site exists. Checking the three boxes, 'All Europe,' 'All Generic,' and 'Rest of the World' returns info on whether or not a name is available in ~120? different domains, all at once. If it has been taken, you can click through to whois info, if available. I love this tool for this kind of thing. I checked Rogi's suggestions, plus adding 'united' to them in about two minutes. Anglevineunited.org was listed as 'possibly available' which may mean that someone checked it via GoDaddy which freezes names you ask about for a limited time. (Server doesn't exist). I didn't check hyphenated names, cause it's late and it's been a long day... I got this originally from Nighthawk in the Meta thread, so props to him.

Just keeping track of everything I try...so nobody re-tries it I guess Very Happy

All are tried with the registry checker pancito posted (thanks!), and with blogspot (lots of ARGs seem to be using that lately...), and with freewebs...lol this is a pain XD

I wasn't part of Section 8, but I emailed her originally. I also didn't get an auto-response when I wrote back...I probably sent it before the PM set it up ^^

whoa, I think you may have overlooked something?

Quote:

the filename of the mp3 attachment.

Pretty sure it's not a ceaser cypher. I tried using "guilt" as a key in vignere but didn't get much. (encryption puzzles don't excite me much)

crack this, and we may get a lead into where to go to next, perhaps....

Also, did anyone get the attachment with a different filename if it was sent to them?

I'm not sure about the filename...I kinda just went with the URLs because I figured that was the next step. I've tried a couple of keys in vignere but no luck here either...do the numbers mean something maybe?

Seems like the /guilt/ part is to be added on to a web address.

Like: http://www.somestuffhere.com/guilt/

Anyone looked into decoding the digiscribe number she gave me? Maybe it's a message in itself...

I agree that the Digiscribe number is probably a key into the matter...though what kind of key, I'm not sure.

Is it possible to encrypt a phrase with numbers? Maybe we should try looking into the whole file name thing from that angle...

(I have no clue about the urls...)

Ooh, creepy. Now I'm really worried about Gracey. o.o;

The lowercase letters spell out "camo". A key?

As for that sound file... I'm horrible with this spectrogram thingy, but here's what I've got from it. Not much maybe.

*lets the more experienced players step in* ^^

http://camouflage.unfiction.com/ perhaps. I'll run our sound file through that, if it even supports sound files.

Sad Someone help me with possible passwords.
