Jack of Diamonds ok, i thought that i posted this, but now i can't find it so in case it didn't take...
this is what i found relevant to the Jack of Spades...
the stuff on the page is lifted directly from something that happened back in 71. (kind of wyoming incidentish)

The Not So Alert
For 37 minutes on Saturday morning, it might have seemed that General Jack D. Ripper, the manic guardian of "precious bodily fluids" from Dr. Strangelove, was at the controls. From the Army's civil defense warning center in Colorado's Cheyenne Mountain, a signal was flashed directly onto the wires of the Associated Press and United Press International. It was a notification that the nation was in a state of emergency, confirmed by an appropriately sinister code "authenticator"—HATEFULNESS, HATEFULNESS. Scores of radio and television stations across the nation broadcast the emergency.
It turned out that the warning center, which regularly transmits a taped test message to the news-service wires, had inadvertently sent an actual warning tape. To unstick the panic button and resolve the confusion, the center finally got through the prearranged code signal canceling the alert. Quite unintentionally, it sounded a sardonically witty note: CANCEL MESSAGE SENT AT 09:33 EST. MESSAGE AUTHENTICATOR: IMPISH, IMPISH.

If you look in the source it says something like "As requested by Fusebox" I saw that yesterday and questioned it.

If I remember correctly, Fusebox was the one who said some magic word to stop something.

Fuse gave the code to stop the alarm. Interestingly enough, for those of you who didn't know, the date on the emergency, was the date SL originally "ended" imploded, whatever.

Apparently, what we thought was an implosion/ending is no longer the case.
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
This is where I get confused because at that point we went META
So anything after that pint would be moot without an additional Rabbithole.
So I am very stuck on the whole META aspect and am having a problem assimilating into things randomly stopping and starting without another Rabbithole to flip that "omg it's time" switch.

Seconded. :\

Just my two cents..
I understand but this never really had any rules. It's always been different. It won't follow any now either. A little chaos can be fun.

Remember that SL isn't an ARG per se. While I see how it is hard to switch gears so suddenly, there really aren't any rules for SL to follow. If anything I have felt that it never ended. Characters disappeared and reappeared at random times, but Tranny/Tranny2 was always a constant. *shrug*
ETA Ash and I post the same thing at the same time lol

Eh, not complaining -- it's just kind of apathy-inducing to check back a lot and not see anything new. Then suddenly there's something new. And then .. nothing.
It's like a sort of game of peek-a-boo that is really fun when the person pops out at you, but pretty disheartening when the hands are there the majority of the time instead.
... I just likened SL to peek-a-boo. lol
No seriously though. I never said it HAD to be one way or the other, it's just nice to be able to prepare instead of wanting to blow off work/school because my interest is suddenly piqued again.

i personally found it more apathy inducing when i thought the whole thing was over. i'll take it this way if it means we get more of it. actually its more managable this way than the sunday 11:11 am thing before. smaller doses

That is kind of where I am. so many things going on, and at my age it is hard enough to change my socks let alone gears...lol.

No doubt it's more manageable than Sunday's 11:11 schedule, especially for the Puppetmaster. It's just easier for me to work with organization these days. (Busy, busy!)
That's not to say I'm not happy about all of this recent activity though. Hardly! ^^

Of course not. I know we all enjoy and are not complaining. We prefer something to nothing. And Nikki....

I found a better solution, I no longer wear any.
