Q47
"Think or Work"

Hey guys, I'm not sure if any of you are still here, but I'm having some trouble with this question. I have a set of 5 numbers and that's pretty much it.
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
My numbers are 16 27 92 111 99. I noticed that a couple of the numbers are squares/cubes of smaller numbers. 16=4 2 =2 4 and 27=3 3 . Not sure if that has anything to do with the solution though.

Any small hints to get me started?

Q49
"String"

Thanks for the help on question 47 Adventurik and allardwza. I'm now on 49 and from previous posts, it looks like it has something to do with
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
binary
and I see that I have to put the final answer into
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
base 10
but it gives me three numbers at the top
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
10 1110 3110 and there is no 3 in binary obviously. Not really sure what I'm supposed to be doing with the numbers.
A small hint would be great. Thanks.

Q49.6

I believe that I got the correct answers for the first 5 parts of Q49 (thanks to a small nudge on the first one from Adventurik)...I'm stuck on the 6th part.
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
I'm given numeric values for a, i, e, and n and a quadratic equation x 2 -4x+8=0. Using the quadratic formula I got that x=2+2i or x=2-2i. Not sure what to do with it at this point.
Am I doing this right, or do I need to go another direction?

EDIT: Thanks again Adventurik...Now on to Q50. Looks a bit intense.

Q50
"Impossible"

Well, this is a fun one...I've solved 8 of the pieces so far...haven't yet started to research the answers for the other ones...but I'm not sure how I will be entering the final answers into the boxes.
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
I'm thinking the page with the Minesweeper-type thing is a clue, but not sure.
Just a small hint about the arrangement and I'll continue working on the pieces. Thanks again.

Q50

Ah, yes. Minesweeper.
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Play the game and combine the results with the other blue box and the main grid.

Q50 sections

Ok, anybody that has finished with Q50...I was wondering if you could possibly help me out with some of the sections. I think that I have about half of them solved. I'm having trouble with 0.1, 1.3, 1.6, 1.7, 1.8, 2.2, 2.3, 2.4, 2.5, 3.2, 5.2, and 9.1. I don't realy know how to go about searching for the answers since I can't search by the sequence of letters/numbers it gives me. I think that I might have an idea for a couple, but might still need a little nudge. If you need to see my sequences, I'll be able to send them to you in a PM. Thanks again.

I did what you mentioned and I get letters that look like

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
LAIK or LAIC

That doesnt work and it doesnt make sense to me. My directions are the same as fairyqueens.

Did you try combining that word with the other word that you found to make a 2-word phrase and using that as your answer?

Q50
Still going...

Thanks to some help from Adventurik, I've solved all of the pieces of Q50 except for 1.8.
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
I have two numbers in a small chart, 450.2 and 350.69.
I'm not sure what I'm missing here with this one.
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
I also have two different possible answers for 4.1, one European and one British, not sure which I should be using.
Thanks again in advance.

1.
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Depending on the scale, that could be hot.

2.
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
It should be one word. You can try each one. Remember Long Scale.

I guess this timewaster goes in the bin. I have tried and tried with the words as I listed above and there is no combination of two words that fit the puzzle so I could randomly guess at it until I run out of patience or ips but I just dont get it. I am usually very good at these but I have to admit that I must be dumb as a post despite my usual ability to sleuth through these. There is no phrase that the above make, and there are dozens of anagrams of the two combined, none of which seem to make any sense to me. Anyway I am still available via PM if any kind soul wants to explain what the h*&# this thing is trying to make me type.

Okay, now I got it. This actually ended up being the fault of my browser. I had put the answer in several times, but apparently when I entered it, it was transmitting, literally, half of the characters. I have never seen it before but I was able to tell via the packets that something fishy was going on. I reloaded my net driver and reinstalled TCP/IP and voila the answer worked immediately. Thanks guys for all your help. I am suspecting some spyware. (Sorry for the threadjack, now back on topic Very Happy)
