Ok, if you want "out there plots", try this for size;

Suppose there's this huge computer system, with a load of humans trapped inside - a bit like the plot of a certain film Wink

But to save confusion lets call this system the "Zedex".

Inside the Zedex, everyone beleives they are living normal lives, but eventually odd things start happening which raises the interest of some.

A couple of brothers, intrigued by the possibilities decide to make a film which explains the world around them.

The film peaks the interest of a group of people, one of whom finds a website which has remarkable similarities to what they saw in the film..

In a "Matrix" chat room discussing this, a user called Caesar visits upset that his site has been hacked....

...

You see where I'm going with this?

Woud that somehow help stabalise the plot around your world?

Has "The Matrix" been mentioned by any of the game characters?

The Zedex has you Cool

they were saying the smith thing in another thread, not i.. i was saying its implausible...

but i stand by my entire theory other than that.... why must the worst have happened to avery?? he got unplugged... clearly...

on metadex phil and beth speak of him as if they were close friends with him... why wouldnt they share the same hobbies??

plus the two missingpeople pictures were sent to phil and then beth.. which im sure they could track to paintover.net ... and then see the first clue w/ us.... i.e. the clues were for them.

until im proven wrong, i stand by my theory!

Oh, and about the missing people: even though unpplugging might be a nice explanation for they disapearance, only young people are supposed to be "freed". Neo was an exception.

I think this actually does argue for the missing people being absorbed by Smith - people don't unplug themselves, someone comes to get them. For kids, I'll bet they don't even give them a choice - just give the little tyke a piece of candy, then go get them when they get spewed out into the waster system.

Anyway, given what I said in a spoiler somewhere, I suspect that Smith is absorbing the missing people.

Edit: So as not to continue hijacking the other post, lemme bring in a quote and continue the thought about where this game is going:

Why do you think this has anything at all to do with The Matrix Online? As far as I know, that's a MMORPG, just like Everquest. All available evidence points to the fact that this has nothing officially to do with The Matrix at all. I mean, The Matrix already has an extensive online presence, and as of yet, there has been absolutely NO connection between any 'official' promotional material (posters, http://www.whatisthematrix.com, enter the matrix, the animatrix or reloaded DVDs) and this game.

I guess I think it does because I'm not terribly familiar with this genre of games, and this seems pretty elaborate for the work of some dedicated fans. Guess I don't realize how much free time people have on their hands... but, on the other hand, what better way to whip up frenzy for The Matrix Online? This is cutting-edge media stuff, in terms of the interaction of film and internet, and marketing movies. Put out a game that starts mysteriously, using a website (Metacortechs.com) that I'm pretty sure has been linked to Warner Bros. earlier this year, and get people interested in where this is going.

I think speculation as to the game's point is relevant to our task here, because it will help us figure out what we're supposed to be figuring out. Are we looking for people who are disappearing because they're being unplugged by the rebels? Or who are disappearing because Smith is absorbing them? Or none of the above?

what this all is

ok i am seriously liking this game but one thing is this if u really look at from my point of veiw that in the matrix the time line from the real world or totaly different remember morpheus said it in matrix 1 the tme it is in the real world and in the matrix or different ... now we already acheivevd that the matrix program does one big loop when a problem goes along now trailers and everything weve seen has given us the answers this isnt the first zion only difference they have is neo . I really dont want to say this but honestly i think that the matrix and the real world in the films is one big program there tryin to get insync with each other nother detail..... how did the kid in the first matrix possibly supposedly still plugged in give neo a bended spoon? but back to the site. if u really look at it the matrix is only trying to reintroduce its selfs to the humans so they would be more accepting to them and for the hackers with the clues...now how many hackers do u know would even acknowledge they did anything they know would get them in trouble? and why would u go on a message board hakers deal wit hackers yall know that but like i said this game is fun and i hope some breaks this game out before nov 5

Re: Figuring out the story line

buckwheaton wrote:
the way i line this up in my head is (keeping the architecht's speach at the end of reloaded in mind) thinking of the matrix software as a recursive algorithm. each new iteration/version of the matrix is created using the humans inside the previous one to create it directly through programming and/or through the re-absorption of the "remainder" (a.k.a. the one [architecht: "The function of the One is now to return to the source, allowing a temporary dissemination of the code you carry, reinserting the prime program"]).

so either the setting of time is crucial to the fuction of the matrix as a recursive algorithm or, and I think I like this take a little more:

the machines/the architecht see(s) the creation of the VR game (which would ultimately become the matrix) as the culmination of the human race's acheivements. they get a perverse mechanical pleasure from watching this moment of history, which would ultimately lead to the downfal of humanity, play out again and again, and see it as a natural climax of each iteration of the matrix, after which everything is torn down, reloaded taking the new data gathered in the form of THE ONE into account, and BAM! we're back in 1991 listening to Nirvana and De La Soul until we re-invent the matrix.

After watching the movie tonite i dont believe either of these will happen.
If you remember the Archetecht had said that this version of Neo had a different aspect that none of the other Neos did and that was love.
he saved Trinity and he believed that nothing changed but just before the end when he was running from the squiddies he realized that something was different, something had changed.
Here they were out of the matrix and he accomplished a feat that had only been concievable within the Matrix. He stopped the squiddies with his power.
He trancended the Matrix

Just to be more exact... they prefer to unplug peeps when they are young but more and more peeps woke up than ever before. If you notice in M.R. there are many ages of peeps that have been unplugged. at least that is what i inferred.

There is another theory that is mentioned in the MR movie.
James. Phil and Beth may have discovered that they were actually "Programs" within the Matrix and instead of risking getting deleted they exiled instead.[/b]

nope...watch the movie again. the orphan gave the spoon to the young man that Neo supposedly saved (inspired to unplug) to give to Neo for luck. The young man (sorry dont remember his name) Said that the orphan told him that Neo would know what the spoon meant and that is at the point that I think Morpheus said that it was from the rescued orphans.

I've been following the ongoing storylines and theories... but I have one question: In TMR, didn't Morpheus tell the Counselor in Commander Locke's office "We've unplugged more people in the last six months than we have in the last 6 years!" To me, this would mean that age is not so much a factor any more in whether or not someone is unplugged. Any comments?
