 		Trailhead(?) Strange Email from Serena Tobin
On the 29th of July, I got a strange email message from a "Serena Tobin." The subject of the email was "indigenous perceptible." This was the body of the message:

millenia already mot

rufus dwight whom? ignite, deconvolve deconvolve.
arrow perceptible yokel september wainscot dwight, millenia
wainscot perplex postcondition rowley sparse.

quietus limestone.

Tobin's email address was tabathaluglongoriaSPLATabandonedmemories.com. I tried replying, but got a message saying that the server returned an error message "550 550 no such user here (state 14)." I assume that's a correct message but I really know nothing about servers or other overly technical aspects of computing.

With that, I had two things left to go on: the name Serena Tobin (which turned up a Facebook public directory page on the first result, but nothing else interesting), and the site www.abandonedmemories.com. See for yourself: its full of pictures of abandoned insane asylums and other half destroyed buildings. I got a strange feeling, and I cant say for sure, but it might be an ARG. Anyone have any input? Did anyone else receive messages like this?

 		You'll have to copy-paste the URL to your browser, clicking on it doesn't work.

And can anyone explain why there's a giant SPLAT in the middle of the email address?

 		your email was spam, junk, trash, spam.

the return address was spoofed, it's random.

http://www.abandonedmemories.com/ is from the Urban Explorers web ring, from which some connection to a past ARG called Urban Hunt can be made.

This forum's software changes the @ sign to SPLAT automatically, to obfuscate pasted email addresses from the eyes of anyone scraping the forum posts for mailing lists.

 		Yah, that completely looks like spam. I used to get those nonsense word spams a lot, although I haven't recently.

The abandonedmemories site, though, did lead me to this video:

FYI, that youtube video is pretty old & the build itself seems to of been knocked down about 15 years ago.

 		Yeah, i noticed the name Urban Explorers, and it rang a bell. So are they running a new ARG? How did they get my email? I've never been on the site before now.

And why the confusing message?

 		abandonedmemories.com is my website. I have nothing to do w/ that spam, tho I'm seeing this on other discussion pages. I doubt it's a real email address as I do not use that for email.

Yes, Wayne County Child Development Center has been demolished, Clinton Valley Center as well. Traverse City Asylum is now condos.
