I'm thinking the username will probably resemble their email accounts. First initial, period, last name, at symbol, massivedynamic.com.

I've emailed everyone named associated with the company with that in mind, and have gotten anything back yet, so... I could be wrong.

Anyway, I'm betting on w.bell or n.sparks or one of the other names like that to be the winner.

P.S. I have no power. Sad So for a bit I can't check out MD.com or watch Fringe unless over someone's house. I don't know who else got hit with this, but I'm in Ohio, and I've heard rumors that our electric company will have everything up within 14 days... 14 days. My epitaph will read "Hear lies Michael Colon. He died of boredom."

The submit button itself is a static link. The employee access page is there of course, I am talking about the submit button on the login page. It (now) links to http://www.massivedynamic.com/1528435.html.

Previously it linked to a page called access_denied.html.

Sigh.... so it is. One of these days I'll learn to, like, read and stuff Very Happy

However, sounds like a big fat KLOO to me Very Happy

Cool, people, interesting news about access page and ideas about login. Although we haven't really any data till now about employees of MD, we have an email by Stadler
j.stadtlerSPLATmassivedynamic.com
Perhaps we could use him as an employee name (either as email or as unsername without @md.com)

I'm trying it now Smile

Once again, the login screen, though visible and yes you can enter a username and password, will NOT log anyone in yet. The submit button is a static link to an html page, not a script, which is what is required for a login page.

It doesn't matter how many different kinds of logins and and password combinations we try. You are going to get the exact same response. Even if by chance you do have the correct username and password, you are STILL going to get the access denied page because it is a STATIC LINK TO AN ACCESS DENIED PAGE.

Oh, thank you for information (I've not properly read this thread) Smile

It will save me some trying sessions.
I have written to Stadtler, hope he will reply. Till now we hadn't really have any communication with MD... I hope, it will change soon.

I won't spoil it for anyone on the west coast but I loved this episode. Walter is one of the best characters on tv. (my girlfriend and I went over a friend's house, they have power)

Question about the "Science News" on the News and Updates page at md.com (no this has nothing to do with tonight's episode): those are all OOG sites right?

Right, but I'm saying keep that in mind when (or we are able to use thatif) the login page actually works. I'm still betting on their email accounts resembling their usernames. That's the simple route companies take.

Just adding more info here. thebruce, feel free to copy some of this to your wiki i guess if you see any of it to be useful.

The ticker data is pulled by the flash animation from an xml file located at:
http://massivedynamic.com/xml/md_tdata.xml

Also, I think the stock tickers may play an important role, as there is a nocache variable attached to the query string, which for those non-web-devs out there, means it requests a new copy of that file everytime the page loads, instead of caching it for faster loads.

One thing it could mean is that they may be prepared to change/update it; whether it be a change in the "price" or "change" values.

<ticker>
<tnode> 44.30
<tnode> 1.6
<tnode> 125.49
<tnode> 21.63
<tnode> 8.8
<tnode> 10.29
<tnode> 32.71
<tnode> 35.83
<tnode> 44.84
<tnode> 5.02
<tnode> 18.02
<tnode>Welcome to Massive Dynamic</tnode>
<tnode>MD 42.23 0.18</tnode>
</ticker>

I wish I had more time to look into these now- however karaoke beckons. Perhaps the "differences" can be rounded to whole numbers in which a sequence or pattern could be found.

Good luck...

...and as an aside, does anyone think that 112400 could be an employee number, or just simply an access code?

11/24/00? Anyone care to dive into that? Also, is it possible that the Stock Ticker's letters can be rearranged into words/ sentence? Or maybe they are short for something. I dunno, just throwing some ideas out there.

New Press Release

There's a new press release on the News and Press page(along with a science link). So far the press release link is broken.

[META]

You can trout me, if it was mentioned here already, but I'm new fan of Videocopilot people, who did the visual effects and opening sequence for Fringe.

They have the Intro in super quality here:
http://www.videocopilot.net/fringe/

And also they have cool tutorial about making your own 3d place descriptions like they did it in Fringe:
http://www.videocopilot.net/tutorials/3d_shadows/ [/META]
