Voices in the Background Music

Hey guys! I think I found something we haven't talked about yet. I was perusing DWY(dot)com, and I heard what sounded like unintelligible voices in the background at various intervals.

Being the good little ARGer that I am, I immediately set about recording and reversing the audio stream, and the voice, which sounds like the Microsoft Sam voice used in Windows, became understandable.

It is saying things like: cheat, man, right, hey, and other things I can't quite make out.

If anybody would like to take a crack at it, I have uploaded the file I made, reversed and ready for listening. Wink

DarkUFO's site http://lostoctagonglobalrecruiting.blogspot.com/
has a theory.
Their list
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
cheat, resembles, more, a, right, man, nothing, click, than, an, honest, see

to get
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
the French proverb "Nothing resembles an honest man more than a cheat"

which leaves a few words left
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
right click C/see

The leftover words might be the clue to the cheat for the next test.

That better NOT be the case, or all of us Mac users are screwed.

I'm a Mac user, and I can 'right click' (better known as secondary click) by placing two fingers on my trackpad and pressing the trackpad button. Smile

(You probably already know this, but jus' sayin'.)

Um, no I don't know this....but it isn't working....just tried it. I know we can try CTRL click, but that doesn't always work either. Grrrr.

For the record, you can't right-click in a Windows Flash window either; it brings up the browser's context menu and never gets acknowledged by the Flash asset.

Could it mean to click the right mouse button at the same time as the letter C on the keyboard, but not *in* the flash window, per se? I don't know, I'm probably just talking out my.......ear! Laughing

System Preferences > Keyboard & Mouse > Trackpad. Should be able to enable the two finger secondary click.

Ahhhhh yes. Well, System Preferences and I are waging a war currently, so that won't work. I can use CTRL, I guess. I downloaded the system update last week, and ever since each time I try to get into System Prefs a pop up hangs down and says "another application has changed your settings" and I click "ok" to make it go away (your only choice) and it pops right back up with the same message. You can do this for hours. In fact, you can't even close it, you have to do a force quit. I have no idea what to do about it....obviously a bug in the update. Crying or Very sad

It won't matter unless we get back to the topic at hand and find something to actually right click on. I reckon it'll be part of the next test.

You know, I've never right clicked the forum and looked at the source. But guess what I found...

I'm user 21233!!

Wow Jedi, I guess you and I think alike. I tried pretty much exactly what you said here (almost) for test 6, not expecting anything, but wouldn't you know it, Black Swan strikes again, lol.

Hey well, ya know what they say: "Great Minds Think Alike"! It also helps if you're a total computer/techno geek, too. Gets you used to the tricks of the trade... Wink
