Fund Raiser: The Amazing Pace
for Ontarians (Canada)

The Lung Association of Ontario (Canada) is putting on their annual Amazing Pace fund raising event in a number of cities in Ontario.

Quote:
Imagine racing with other teams throughout your city's streets, solving clues and overcoming Checkpoint Challenges presented as Detours and Roadblocks! Put these pieces together and you have the Amazing Pace. This event tests participants both mentally and physically as they try to outwit each other by being the first team to reach the final Checkpoint in the least amount of time.

We will Provide:
* City map and Bus Route Schedule
* Local Transit Pass (where applicable)
* Amazing Pace Passport
* Pacer's pack of goodies, refreshments and snacks
* A great day of Pacing!

The Amazing Pace Rules
1. Teams are made up of 4 persons unless otherwise specified on their Community page.
2. Participants must pay a $25 non-refundable registration fee, and must raise a minimum of $100 in pledges to participate.
3. All team members must complete the Pace together from start to finish.
5. No outside help is permitted for the Starting Challenge
6. Teams may only travel by foot or local transit. No other form of transportation is allowed (with the exception of the one time fast forward taxi chit offered in select sites).
7. Teams may not ask staff or volunteers at the Checkpoints for help in completing challenges. Teams may access the Internet, cell phones, general public as information sources.
8. The clock will stop when all members on a team reach the final checkpoint and step onto the mat. The route closes 4 hours after the start.

Stratford's already done, but other dates:
Bellevile - October 25
Oakville - October 25
London - October 18
Toronto - October 25
Waterloo - October 25

About the Lung Association:

Looks like fun, and for a good cause Smile

Couldn't a prize page, but there are incentives and rewards

(move to Timewasters if that's a better forum, can't decide)
