Now there's a coincidence

I was looking for something interesting & found this - hardly been here since PXC finished, then I find this. Result.

Ringtone downloaded & waiting for next steps.

MONKEYS???

hey, I'm new and I hope I can be of help here.

One thing that I noticed is that there is a wierd word that spells out MONKEYS if you highlight it. It's on the information part at the bottom at the website, in the title. It's really bugging me.

The ringtone file had the prefix

9b0bf53d9e019c652e5e260f37ed3137

before the email address

Not sure if this is encrypted text or a Red Herring but probably the latter

Just a thought??

is it possible that there might ACTUALLY be a certain number of people who have already been clued in to whats going on? and that we MIGHT JUST have to keep playing the dang ringtone untill 'x' number of them report to whoevers in charge?

Imean, im BRAND new to this genre of 'game', so i dunno, whats the likelyhood that the ringtone might not have anything terribly sneaky about it?

To me it seems like it would be a great way to make sure that enough people were involved (lurking or not) before the game was started prematurely.

But what do i know Smile

Hi All,

Talk of ex-PXC, and another one appears! Not sure how much use I'll be but I will definitely be lurking!!

Aye, me too. I've not played an ARG since PXC. This one's managed to get my attention.

Looks like this pretty much is PXC reunited then... Very Happy

monkeys, cake and ringtones!

jeez,
lots of interesting stuff from this one. I must say though, the portal cake reference sounds like something promising! I'm thinking valve software. Can anybody give me some backup on this!

Gut?

Hmmm, I actually made the Portal/Cake/Biscuits comment quite jokingly... Just thought I recognized a sense of humor/parallel between the two.

BUT, so far, being brand new and all, Smile am still kinda under the impression that "Anything Goes" on one of these.

To the more experienced players (everyone, lol Laughing ), whats your take on this? Imean do you think its legitimately linked to cancer research? especially considering that were all really in pre-game... or is it possible that such a thing is just being used as a plot-device to get us rolling before we can?

Just curious if this is actually 'for a good cause' or, lol what your gut says?

Edit: after reading some of the stuff at http://www.letschangethegame.com im pretty sure i just answered my own question ... lol well fox, no valve for us it seems! But still im happy to be playing anything for cancer awareness/research right guys??

I don't know if this actually helps, but I wikied sleeper cell, and it redirected me to Clandestine cell:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clandestine_cell_system

Quote:
A clandestine cell structure is a method for organizing a group in such a way that it can more effectively resist penetration by an opposing organization. Depending on the group's philosophy, its operational area, the communications technologies available, and the nature of the mission, it can range from a strict hierarchy to an extremely distributed organization. It is also a method used by criminal organizations, undercover operatives, and unconventional warfare (UW) led by special forces.

Quote:
Sleeper cell, a dormant unit in a clandestine cell system

interesting isn't it? There is more information on sleeper cells in the page.

I guess the sleeper cells in the title are those agents who will be woken up by the ringtone. Or possibly those cells that are mutated to produce cancer. Or both.

Good find!

I don't think the 'monkeys' reference is anything special though, it is just a poke at the legal profession.

It really doesn't matter much what you put in after "public_html/"
