Got a reply to my facebook message. Unfortunately, it says, "Sorry, wrong Nicole Norfleet."

I wrote to mona, "Mona, we heard your plea. We will try to help you get free."

She replied:
Quote:
tell them they must remember

they must recognize

 Mailing Mona
Communication from the other side!

Mona e-mailed me back! Seems we can start up the e-mails again. I'm still not sure who we should get in contact with next though. Here's what she wrote me:

Quote:
neglect me

lie me

forget

under the rug

anger i am

tell them wrong

speak in hex

it will mail

show me

freedom

voice will fade soon

few speak back

i fade

I also thought to put in a Philly Craigslist entry, but I kept Byberry specifically out of it in case there were any real world repercussions. I wanted to focus on the abuse and rememberance aspects. So if anyone sees this CL, just know I posted it: http://philadelphia.craigslist.org/rnr/855672907.html

I e-mailed the Somerton Civic Association, but no response. Are they a legit site? I did a godaddy search, and it looks like they are- since it was registered in '98. Maybe they're just slow?

Take Care,
Kendra

EDITED TO ADD:
Hmm- got a response to the CL, from someone. They wrote:
Quote:
One in one thousand burials have "extra luggage".

See now I'm wondering if that's a game-tie in! And if so, does that mean Mona was pregnant when she died??? I'm going to put another CL to that person and ask if they know Mona.

Mona

Looks like Kendra_W and I had the same idea about the Craigslist post, only I decided to ask Mona, first:

Quote:

Hello Mona!

We heard and read your message, but we are unsure how what we can help. What do you want us to include in the
hex masterpiece and where shall we post it? Would a craigslist-posting be sufficient to free you? Please be more specific,
we REALLY want to help but don't know how.

Trillian

Her answer:
Quote:

write letter

send

show me

not forgotten

Not really helpful, I'm afraid.

Sadly, from further info on The Opacity Forum it appears the SCA might not be backing the memorial idea.

However, if "25 acres are to remain open space" then this contact address(PACDC) found on the Opacity Forum may have the general supervision over a memorial placement.

Maybe positive emails("letter") stating the historical significance of an on-site memorial in those 25 acres would get a reply?
Unfortunately, sending them a "Hex masterpiece" which Mona insists upon isn't(imo) the optimal way to be taken seriously. Rolling Eyes
ETA: find kendra's CL postings such a bril idea. So hope we hear more from this ctc. And new HI-5 to remotedevice.

Laughing about your Hex masterpiece post amandel. Hope mona doesn't want us to land in a similar institution.

I sent a brief note to the PADCD asking about the memorial just to establish what's going on currently.

Just a thought - could an image (jpeg) also be considered a 'hex masterpiece' by Mona?

MrToasty, I think we're free to interpret that as we like, and a picture fits with mona lisa masterpiece.

a clear option...

I'm a fan of trying simple and fast things first. If Mona says

Quote:
write letter

send

show me

and also

Quote:
send them truth in hex

show me

it seems to me that we need to write a letter, convert it to hex, and email it to a bunch of organizations and Mona.

I haven't been keeping track of the civic groups, builders, newspapers, etc, but I think someone has. They'd all be good to email. Since I can't easily help with the letter's recipients, I'll start a draft of the letter here:

#################
To whom it may concern,

We were recently made aware of residential developments in the progress of construction on the former site of the Philadelphia State Hospital in Byberry. To respect the individuals that were forced to spend time in that institution and to serve as a reminder of the tragedy of the lives lost, it would be proper to erect some sort of memorial. Neglecting to do so is wrong and erases part of the areas history.
#################

I have no problem sending the email if others are creeped out about this IRL action. What else should it say?

walkingpaper--Go and do it (imo). There are two contact addresses in my post above. Mona seems to have become more reasonable and now only wishes not to be forgotten (memorial). Already sent a short memorial inquiry to PACDC myself.

Sending hex code to a newspaper and the Community Development Corp. might land your emails in the nutso file without a response or real world action though. Maybe the Hex is only necessary for Mona but you should follow through on your idea.

I agree

Based off what I read, I agree with Walking. Write a letter to the appropriate groups, convert to hex, send and bcc Mona on it. IRL they won't take the time to realize it's code, they'll delete it as spam or gibberish. I don't think she's looking for a solution or a response from them. She's looking for us to show her that we remember and we've told others to remember

Anyra, actually believe she is hoping for a response as she told Tres at the top of this page and that would also be nice:

"mona, you are not forgotten" on CL seems to have stirred up some interest. Wink
