Who is your favorite character from Cloverfield and why?

 		Who is your favorite character from Cloverfield and why?
Note: excluding Clover. Also, please provide some reasoning behind your choice!
In my opinion, I would have to say that it'd have to be Rob Hawkins, the "main dude" and the guy who basically lead his friends through the escapade to save their friend, Beth. What are my reasons for choosing Rob Hawkins? Let me explain.

He works for Slusho, a subsidary branch of Tagruato Corp. So that right there tells me that he's an important part of the Cloverfield universe because he's probably the only character in the entire film who has some ties to the Cloverfield ARG...which I'm hoping will be revived soon in time for the trailer to the "surprising" sequel.

Also, I like the character he portrays in the movie. He's very down-to-earth, laid-back and has the willpower to do whatever it takes to go back and save a loved one. While it is clear that he struggles to piece together his relationship with Beth, at the very end of the film, I was happy to see that he and Beth were able to profess their love, even if what was to ensue was their imminent death.

Lastly, for the lead character to an epic monster movie, Rob wasn't your gung-ho, beefed-up main action "Rambo" guy coming to "save the day". I have seen in a lot of monster movies, and especially the 1998 Godzilla movie where the main character would proclaim something like, "Guys, we've got to do something to stop this monster!" That's not the case for Rob. Haha, I mean, Rob made it clear that he's not going head-to-head with this monster. But if it gets in the way of his highest priority, which would be to save Beth, then he has no choice but to find his way around it -- not confront it directly.

Oops, I didn't mean to put so much emphasis on my reasoning. Anyways, who is your favorite character from Cloverfield and what are your reasons for choosing whoever it is that you've chosen? Discuss, please, and you're welcome to offer an opinion on my choice as well.

 		My fav character is Hud hes just so guyish hes like trys to get the girl but fails at first and later gets the girl to like him: thats me XD

 		Marlena. First of all, Lizzy Caplan is epic. She is the coolest/hottest/awesomest woman on the planet and nobody on the world could have played this character better.

because he's so... just talking about everything what comes him to his mind..
like "I just can't stop thinking how scary it'd be if a flaming homeless guy came running..."

in interaction with Marlena it's almost funnier what he's saying

Hud: Oh yeah, I'm not actually a professional.
Marlena: What?
Hud: I'm not a professional. I'm Hud.
Marlena: Hug?

Hud: One of them grabbed me, tried to drag me away. What's up with that?
Marlena: Maybe it liked you, Hud.
Hud: Yeah. Maybe it tried to make me its queen.

 		HUD's comment about the flaming, homeless guy is a classic when it comes to Cloverfield.
