But I am glad that we picked up where we left off.
Do you think that we have to use the previous part of the game to solve this?

Dev, the dialogue of this video is introductory, a setup for the story to come, with no mention of what happened before. It strikes me as an entirely fresh start.
Welcome aacarter! I'm glad to see you here.

to me it looks like the guy in the video is holding up his fists like he is fighting someone. granted his guard isn't good but it still looks that way to me.
also there are two images or so it seems in the video. this is the other one. it looks like a bird being choked by a vine. a parallel to the woman bieng choked?

I took a screen cap somewhere earlier in this thread. That thing on the left is actually a hole in the wall with cracks around it.
EDIT:
Here it is again

I thought it was a crack in the wall at first too, but then i also thought it could just be made to look like a crack in the wall. we cant know.
I do like that screen you just posted though; you can clearly see hes sitting in a chain with one hand on an arm of it in this one.

Tres, I have to agree with you, it feels fresh..but I just don't want to discard what happened..er...six months ago?
Although, if it was a fresh break, you'd think the PM would have deleted the other videos from YouTube. I think it serves as an introduction for new players.
But I agree -- the man in the picture is grasping the chair with one hand, and closing his jacket with another.
Although, I am betting we'll see another video quickly, this re-introduction didn't leave much to discover.

The Young Woman In the prelude (or pre-break action, or whatever... ) there was a picture posted of a woman, and in the "Eyes Without a Face" video he talks about a woman coming to find all the pages of the history, so I think there is some carryover between the two parts.
Also in that first video, he says "Over the course of the next year"
Year!!??
Do you think the PM is ambitious enough (and have deep enough pockets) to keep this going along for that long. Interesting Meta question... how long do you think you could keep an ARG up, running and fresh?

Well if this is only an intro its going at a slow enough rate to keep up for a year...
He does say in the video that there is a way to contact them. How did the PM contact the players in the 'pre-game' or whatever it was?

He used video clips back then to communicate same as now. I don't think anybody ever directly contacted him. It was a one way conversation.

aacarter, I'm also curious about the earlier videos left on youtube. One thing did occur to me about them. Because I was subscribed to them, the new video showed up when I went there looking for something else. There are numerous people subscribed to songwraith, so someone was bound to find the new vid quickly. As far as their relevance goes, I think we'll need to wait and see.
We're being told right off that a big commitment has been made to this time-wise, which leads me to think it's for a major project/product.
One way to communicate now is by youtube messaging.

Making Contact Hello All!
I read the 17 pages from the "original game/pre-game" earlier this morning, and if I'm not mistaken, the players involved were contacted by email. Someone might want to ask TheBruce about it because he went on a real world mission (and retrieved one page of history) in the first go about. I'm actually surprised to not see him posting here already???

I'm reading, I'm watching
back then I was fairly central because I was the only one in the area who'd pick up the paper... there's not much to go on right now. I think it's more of a re-start than a continuation. The latest plans didn't really pan out before =P

So here is some research/ speculation. The movie Eyes without a Face came to the US under the name The Horror Chamber of Dr. Faustus. I remember reading in the previous post that 'Faustus' came up in the previous game. It is related to Johaan Faustus who was German (songwraith is as well) and practiced Alchemy and Magick. I think the picture in the video may be of Johaan Faustus but I am not sure. Also Echelon means a ordered line of soldiers, the way the pictures are lined up in the video. I think maybe this may be a group of people who follow in the works of Faustus.
This may me stretching it but I don't know.

Hello all. Two things I thought might be of interest.
After doing some searching I've found that "the life unending" is a somewhat archaic but not uncommon phrase in Christianity. It does not, however, refer to a state of being undead, as was previously suggested. It is actually used in reference to the afterlife, usually heaven.
Edit: It should however be noted that this is specific to the phrase "THE life unending" whereas the video says "A life unending"
Also, joshtheme noted that there are sounds of water that may have been inserted into the file. In the opening scene of "Eyes Without a Face", the doctor's assistant dumps the dead body of a young woman into a river. There may be a connection there.
I'm also torrenting the movie and should be able to watch it in the next few days. I'll let people know if I spot any other connections to the movie.
