Phone Call From Caitlin?
I'm pretty sure it was her.

I just got a phone call from 509 590 2162 asking for "Aki" which confused me at first because obviously, that's my internet moniker.

Anyway, she said that she was checking on an application that I submitted, and needed to confirm a few things. She asked me where I was located. I said "St. Louis," and, sounding confused, she asked me what district that was in. I replied "North America." I feel sort of stupid because I couldn't for the life of me remember what the heck the naming convention was for the world was here. She said that it was odd that she'd never heard of such a place before, and I didn't know what to tell her because I was like a deer in the headlights.

Anyway, she said that I should expect further contact.

I'm afraid I couldn't record anything b/c I wasn't expecting a call. I'm also afraid that I botched the whole thing up because I was surprised to be getting a call like this.

Did anyone else get a call? Maybe if they sorted the applications by name I was first on the list. I hope someone else got something a little more useful.

EDIT: 509 is a Spokane Washington area code. According to the white pages, it's a land line.

Got the same thing, from Cait from Memoria - same number, same question, although I had to cut her off and hang up instead of playing along. Unfortunately, I'm still at the office because the entire freaking system here is crashing right and left, and while I'm not part of the IT staff, I still am part of the team, so here I am, until friggin midnight or something.

Meta: sorry for the short convo, Cait, but the whole "we're in a crisis get your ass back here" mood is not one to screw with in my company. My apologies if I came off as rude

If anyone *else* gets the call, you can claim you're a member of sect that uses pre-Year Zero naming conventions, or try stating that you're on an open line, and that the Postal System will be able to interpret your location, even if it's nonstandard.

Should I try calling her?

I don't think that'll work - it might, however, trigger a OMFG Security Breach! post by the Rising.
