Whoa, so this is connected to 2009 a True Story? It certainly is similar in style, but seemed thematically different to me. Not that there's much info from the 20 second long clip, but I question the relation.

Not to discount your hard work, Seph. It's still quite possible. Seems the next step in 2009 starts 010109. So perhaps that could shed some light on these characters.

As of now though, I'm not quite sure why the viral marketing for the series would start in December 2007 when the first episode started in April.

Again, not trying to discount any of your work, just thought I'd throw in my 2 cents.

Great work! BUT I wonder has anyone gone through the videos or trailers looking for the vidoe section that keeps popping up? By the way the when I tried the athenewin video I got a message that it was no longer available. Anyone else get that?

Is anyone still tugging on this? I wish there were more to it. Lately I've been resigned to the "kids playing around" theory (err a 28 year old). But it seems like the intent of a prank is simply mischief whereas this is more compelling and mysterious. Why would it be designed as a plea for help if there were no other clue as to what to do next? Why is it always the same message on all of these videos? Are there any other parts to the story embedded elsewhere?

Sorry, I don't have any answers... unless it was an aborted attempt at an ARG, given that these were posted almost a year ago.

So far I don't see any thematic consistency in the infected videos or the user names.

The Uploader's account usernames differ from the original account usernames by only one added or rearranged letter or number. Perhaps there is significance to this.

Here is a list of the Original/Uploader accounts found thus far, with the changed characters in brackets.

If more videos are found it should become clearer whether the added, missing, and rearranged characters are of any importance or just imaginary breadcrumbs.
