/me hopes this is in fact satirical.
Haven't found that press release on their site yet.

Seems kind of counter-intuitive if it is in fact a Christian ARG, and if not and they're going to those events, then those organizations are essentially being lied to... not sure how I feel about this one.

ie, I presume that with Vitu-Volunteers being present at those events, that this is in fact a Christian ARG, in which case I find it hard to believe that the press release scarpegrosse received was 'fake', meaning A) if they're Christian, they're against ARGs (yet running one at best, a viral campaign at least) or B) a non-Christian ARG that for some reason Christian events are supporting...

the latter would be more palatable, but I'd hope those organizations know what the true intents of this whatever-it-is are.
so, IMO, it's shady at this point for me... we'll see what happens

I have to agree with thebruce on this one.It just seems a bit too shady for me to be in at this point. I will admit that I am curious as to what this is all about. But for now, I am going to proceed with caution.

I really don't know what to think of this.

Let's look at the two possibilities:

1) Press release is real.

According to them, I'm the devil and a threat to human decency for creating such games. Not the best of ways to recruit me, I must admit.

And that's not to mention I think they're completely wrong and borderline crazy.

2) Press release is "in game", a pseudo-satirical piece.

The fact that they mention the term "ARG" directly ruins any illusion they might have of this being an ARG. So if it's a game they're fighting... themselves?



Although, this does lead to an interesting premise: the ARG underground creating an ARG within their site, unbeknownst to them, as retaliation to the press release. A sort of subversion, if you will. That would explain the word "HELP" spelled out on their main page; they're saying they're not an ARG and are against the premise of ARG, but someone is making an ARG on their site right under their noses.

Personally, I never saw the PDF "Press Release" as real. I am not the brightest person in the world (only an IQ of about 163) but, common... everything on that site seemed sort of silly.

I am sure that the events have absolutely no idea what is going to be going on here. And, if they do and have been brought up to date on what exactly is going on and they are still fine with it than who are we to judge?

On another note, and I'm actually surprised that no one has mentioned this yet... does anyone wonder what the kids at that camp are doing? The wording is a bit suspicious and it sounds like there is something else going on there than just kids at a camp doing normal campy things. Maybe a secret project?
