another thought I had was that these inspiration might be "groups" (six groups?) - like U2/Desire, Paul McCartney/Beatles/With A Little Luck, Elvis/Hound dog, Pillar? Artists that have gone through questionable/controversial periods in Christian circles? as in 'should a real Christian be listening to music from artistxyz?'
but many are wishful connections at best... still haven't the foggiest

thoughts

just thinking out loud...some of this has been previously mentioned

Quote:
Though inclement weather may
rise, I shall not hide in a barn like
a mouse.
could be a reference to the ark, but why say "hide"
Quote:
My future is not some
treasure locked in a shrine out of
my reach.
reference to the Ark of the Covenant
Quote:
The pan of daily bread
that is mine is at my beck and call,
reference to the Bible
Quote:
send from above like parts of an
angelic aria.
an aria is italian for "air", and in music was originally any expressive melody, usually, but not always, performed by a singer

still working on this one...

Hi, I'm a musician and an Aria is more related to the Opera, is a part of an Opera where the melodies (orchestra and singer) are more important than the text. What's heard is more important than what is said. Ussually they are solist pieces to show the vocal habilities of the singer.

LOL nothing related with the game but i couldn't help writting and explanation... Wink

OK.. Since ideas are running dry, here's something new, but probably nothing. I tried searching on 6 groups and came across this.

Deuteronomy 20:17 (TNIV) says:

Quote:
17 Completely destroy [a] them—the Hittites, Amorites, Canaanites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites—as the LORD your God has commanded you.

In this chapter of the bible God is giving instructions on how the Israelites are to take over foreign lands. There are 6 groups of people. The first of the six groups is the HITTITES. And it's mentioned in verse 17. The chapter also mentions the word gate. The chapter also goes with some of the ideas in Inspiration 2.

Even if 'hittites' is a clue. What would it even mean??

EDIT:
In Exodus, the list of groups is most commonly written in this order:
Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites

So that could make Canaanites the 1st of 6 groups - if you look at the first 2 inspirations as building off each other.

And with a push from esc on the Garden Wall forums, I think we've finished this week's mission! Lila's going to copyright the revisions of the "Faithless Fourteen", and presumably block them from being used.

Lila's done this and has asked us to contact Xander to let him know:

I tried sending a message to his xandersragtimeband MySpace; is there some other way we have of contacting him?

Transcripts of thebruce's recordings (from way back on page 4):

701 - Temperance
(Male voice, confirmed to be Xander Greene's) "You're calling the Citizens of Virtue - but you didn't get them. (He then says something that sounds like "Deet"?) Now's the time to take a stand! Don't believe them. These people are NOT virtuous. fruitofthegarden.com is for you. Please, check it out. The person who runs it... well, I've known her all my life. To get in, you will need to know what the King James Version called henna. My friends in The Seven need you to search for us. (A beep, and a weird sound that may or may not be an artifact of recording)"

702 - Patience
(Young female voice) "Hey! You called about Patience, but don't tell the Citizens you got me instead. I gotta tell you something - these Citizens of Virtue guys are wack. If you want to find an elder to respect, check out fruitofthegarden.com. That lady's got some wise words. Speaking of words, bet you don't know what the King James Version called henna! Text it in to find out something truly cool."

703 - Chastity
(Male voice) "You think you're coming to the Citizens of Virtue to solve your problems, but I've taken over the line. Please, hear me out. Like every problem, this one has a simple, easy-to-understand WRONG answer. Just go to fruitofthegarden.com to learn more. But you won't get too far if you don't analyze what the King James Version called henna, then find the right place to put that information. Please, for all our sakes. Seven thank you."

704 - Kindness
(Female voice) "This is your wake-up call. The Citizens think you're hearing their PR ramblings. Instead, you get me. All of us came to the Citizens of Virtue seeking something, but we found there's enough evil in the world without this bunch adding to it. Please go to thefruitofthegarden.com. The word in the King James Version for henna will let you in. But hurry. They'll find us soon." (Yes, she says THEfruitofthegarden.com. No, it doesn't exist.)

706 - Diligence
(Male voice) "I don't think the Citizens pay their techies enough (laugh), because it wasn't hard to take over this line. The Citizens of Virtue don't want you hearing me. I took a gamble on this group. It wasn't a good one. Now we're turning the tables. Check out fruitofthegarden.com, and if you want a tip from the GOOD (odd silence?), figure out what the King James Version called henna. That's where your search will end up."

707 - Charity
(Female voice) "This message is going to be different than you - or the Citizens of Virtue - expected. Do not believe these people. They're liars. For truth, turn to thefruitofthegarden.com. You will find the true key to wisdom if you know what henna was called in the King James Version. That input will bear a wealth of fruit."

(I haven't checked yet to see if 705's been fixed.)

If Tabitha from Camp Francis is one of The Seven, she's probably the one heard in 702... which may imply she's the next one we'll be helping.

705 is fixed and is a new message (male):

705 - Humility
(male voice) I don't have long to say this. I know this message isn't what you or the Citizens of Virtue expect to hear. It pains me to say this but there is something terribly wrong here. Please go to fruitofthegarden.com and if you want some true jewels of knowledge, consider what the King James version calls henna. Its a place to seek and give input.

Inclement weather may mean the pillar of cloud the Israelites followed by day? Not sure about the barn/mouse thing.

I agree that the treasure locked in a shrine is likely the Ark of the Covenant.

The pan of daily bread could mean the manna that God provided to the Israelites during the Exodus.

Not sure about warring factions, but Bryson Grace starts his Temperance video by holding a chalice.

A couple notes
notes

Am I reading something wrong, or shouldn't "send" be "sent":

The pan of daily bread... send from above...

Also, I think this is coincidence, but a Google of Angelic Aria turned up a painting by a "Linda McCartney" (no relation I assume). She also has paintings named "Amazing Grace", "Yesterday', and "Garden Wall".

I searched EXODUS in the TNIV and the only place the word appears in the whole Bible is Hebrews 11:22 which says:

Quote:
By faith Joseph, when his end was near, spoke about the exodus of the Israelites from Egypt and gave instructions about his bones.

I thought they had put someone's bones in the Ark but I couldn't confirm that. I do find it interesting that there is only one EXODUS reference in the TNIV.

CoV has returned to a Daily Inspiration (10/15)
Quote:
Before you venture into dark
territory, know that the
conclusion is not foregone,
nor is the beginning ordained .

Only hint I'm getting is that that someone who is posing as an ordained minister may not be.

Mentioning that yesterday's Weekly Inspiration is the only one so far written in the first personal singular--using the "I" made it appear directed toward one person and agree with those who saw a master/dog theme.

Also, voice 702 (Patience) begins her recorded msg with "Hey!" which Tabitha uses in her Camp Francis letter.
EDIT:just noticed Tabitha's vent(venture) in the first line of today's DI.

This looks like it should be straightforward. What I'd like is a word that means "dark territory" -- preferably one that ends in a word meaning "foregone" and begins with a word meaning "ordained." Removing these two words would leave us with the answer to this puzzle.

That, I say, is what I'd like, but I can't think of words for any of these clues that look particularly promising...

Connections to the book...

OK so I have never done this type of gaming and I've really only been following this because you guys seem to be really good at figuring this stuff out, however I'm not sure if you have already worked through what might be book clues. This whole thing is running from the new book Jesus Wants to Save Christians and in the book there are exstensive end notes and themes.

Theme: Egypt. Sinai. Jerusalem. Babylon.
Egypt- oppression by Gov. with violence
Sinai- given purpose and identity (given a blessing)
Jerusalem- questions of what we do with our blessing (possible abuse of blessing)
Babylon- exile where we can cry out for God in repentance (finding ourselves "east of Eden" again)

Endnote clues?
Each chapter has an extra end note there are six chapters with two intros and an epilogue:
Intro 1: Matthew 6:1-2
Intro 2: Ezekiel 5:7
Chapter 1: Revelation 1:9
Chapter 2: Habakkuk 3:4
Chapter 3: Deuteronomy 4:8-9
Chapter 5: Exodus 4:3
Chapter 6: Ecclesiastes 10:3
Epilogue: Song of Solomon 5:11

Sorry if this is repeat info

The new inspiration is back to a "Daily" inspiration. Which means the one that was titled "Weekly Inspiration" was significant.

Also, our word "vent" shows up in this inspiration.

I'm guessing Monday will always be a weekly inspiration...
