During this lull, I've been revisiting that pesky second Daily Inspiration, particularly noting the reference to Exodus. The only other DI reference a passage used the Bible specifically.

So, I thought perhaps it's something to do with the 10 Commandments

Quote:
Whoever steals from another has stolen from God.

8th commandment - Shall not steal

Quote:
He deems any man who desires foreign gold as desiring foreign ideas.

10th commandment - Shall not covet

Quote:
Second to none, your Lord

1st commandment - No other gods before me.

Unfortunately, that's as far as I got. What also bothers me is that all the other DIs have required basically one simple insight and this one seems much more complex than the others, so perhaps there's a much simpler solution.

I do think there's definitely a reason Exodus is mentioned specifically.

Patience is up!

It's about Camp Francis. Hit the full-size button at the end while everyone's waving, and you can see the girl in the green shirt (Tabitha?) spelling something out in sign language. Decoding in progress now...

Also there's a blueprint available.

Eric noticed that Tabitha's letter is now a clickable link, and it's clearly intended to be printed out and used somehow. My first thought was that the VENTs might overlay the blueprints to form an escape route somehow, but on my printout, the blueprint and the text printout aren't exactly the same size.

don't need to print, just use a paint program - the images are the same size and can be overlaid... see attachment Cool

and the solution:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
send postcard to my mother to tell her I am ok and hope she'll take me back soon thanks

catherwood from chat has decoded the sign language to STRAYTABBYLJ.

http://straytabby.livejournal.com/ is Tabitha's LiveJournal; it's got the reading list thebruce used for the overlay.

Here's hoping she somehow manages to steal access to a laptop again for a few seconds so she can friend me (and several others) back, since that would release access to any friends-locked posts she might have made.

If we're to send a postcard to her mother, we need more info about finding her, and friends-locked posts seem a likely place to look.

Otherwise, I don't know what to do with the layout or the slight change in the Proverbs quote yet. It's possible that now we just have to wait.

Accessing Patience?

Is there something special you need to do to access Patience? The button itself doesn't work for me...

I don't think we have a category that fits OREGON, so perhaps the one we're missing is STATES? Anyone care to try to backsolve DI2 to fit that?

Why can't "OREGON" represent the CAPITAL category, i.e. "SALEM"?

So seeing two floors of a blueprint, I did what felt the natural thing:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Overlay the images. Several letters exactly matched locations between floors. These are (from left-to-right in two "rows" of sorts - erinCole) Might erinCole be a name we need or is there a better anagram of these letters?

Yes! Look at The Lord's Due; there's an Erin C who sent her daughter to Camp Francis. That must be Tabitha's mother!

Weirdly, "straytabby" is not appearing among my friends on my LJ userpage, even though I've friended her (and I'm showing up on her page as having friended her). What the heck?

EDIT: Never mind -- it took a while, but she's finally there. Just an LJ delay of some sort, I imagine.

So we now have Erin Cole, Spokane Valley Washington -- we just need to find a street address and a zip code if we're going to send her a postcard, I guess?

Donimo: it's been working fine for me in Firefox -- just keep refreshing there, is all I can suggest.

Well, I'm sort of glad it links to a person onsite so I can stop looking into erin cole's salon and couture. Maybe the LJ hides more info on how to get an address?

ETA: I did find it interesting some of the rooms smelled "Clue" to me, and the description of the blueprints describes a game Credo which might be based on Clue?(Cluedo outside US). I'm going to look into both and see if room sizes/identities fulfill both sets. Maybe numbers or another message can come out of room sizes in the blueprint versus game. There is that extra "box" in the blueprint too that doesn't exactly work as a room.

ETA2: Credo seems different than Clue unfortunately, but I did learn outside the US, Mr. Green is actually Reverend Green. That's probably completely useless but an interesting bit of trivia.

I've never done this before, but I'm totally geeking out about it.
Curse you - guy that commented on my blog post about JWTSC about this!

Anyway - I'm not sure if this will turn out to be important later, but clearly from the LJ posts, and the sign language, Tabitha has a sister named Becca who is deaf. Becca Cole, I guess?

Thanks. It suddenly started working.

I wouldn't think this would be the right address for Mrs. Cole, but the video begins at the Phantom Ranch, W309S10910. I'd think this was rather the address of the camp. Or the address could mean something else.

That's the actual location of the Phantom Ranch Bible Camp in Wisconsin, so it looks like a possible 'stock' photo use.
