I am now also wondering about the "address directory". I wonder if that is something we can get access to, or just a figure of speech?

I've been trying a couple of "obvious" ideas for urls but no luck so far.

On page 17 of this thread, there was some talk about how someone with sound editing tools might try to poke around with the "noise" in the Patience video. Has anyone tried this, or was it determined to be a dead end?

I know you've all seen jesuswantstosavechristians.com, but what about http://www.jesuswantstosavechristians.blogspot.com/

I don't know if they'll continue blogging there, or if that will give any clues (probably not).

More breaking news...

On the "Press" page:

Quote:
CHURCH-GOERS DUPED BY DANGEROUS SONG LYRICS
Christian Organization Cleans Up Christian-Youth Song Lyrics

The Citizens of Virtue (C.O.V.), a Christian organization devoted to raising children in a healthy and God-blessed environment, has re-evaluated a plan to change the lyrics of fourteen songs popular among the youth of many Christian communities.

"It has come to our attention," said Blake Cranston Esq., a lawyer at the Citizens of Virtue headquarters in Kansas City, Missouri, "that these particular songs are copyrighted. We have no desire to step outside the law, and for this reason, we've abandoned the project. Our wish was to write new and amusing lyrics for these songs, for entertainment purposes only. Parodies."

Cranston continued, "The legal ground here is gray enough, however, that we've decided it isn't worth the risk. Organizations such as the Citizens of Virtue are often the target of superfluous, malicious lawsuits. Though it saddens me, I've recommended that we take the safe route. We have enough musicians in our organization, truly good Christians, that we've turned our attention instead toward fostering newly emerging talent."

V.P. of Cultural Development Wilfred Dawes praised Mr. Cranston for his foresight and diligence, in his resignation letter, delivered directly to Pastor Bryson Grace, effective immediately. Dawes cited personal challenges for his decision to leave the organization. Pastor Grace has no current plan for refilling the position.

ahh... so they're twisting the fact in regards to Dawes' "resignation" ... Twisted Evil
They can't let it be known that they hired a man with 10 DUIs... that would just look bad on their organizatio. *tsk* Razz

Sorry, I'm waiting for unfiction.com to send me a confirmation email - my username is panda13, but I can't yet login.

Anyway, I got the blogspot address from Rob Bell's "official" (not personal) facebook page, here:

http://www.facebook.com/pages/Rob-Bell/10553794179

Hope that helps!

Alex Pearson

Has anyone looked into Alex Pearson, the creator of the CoV Facebook group?

Alex is for real, and not connected with the people behind this game. He's a friend of many of us here.

Regarding the recent discussion about finding the address info, I just had a thought from reading the Privacy Policy page:

Quote:

Privacy Policy:

The Citizens of Virtue respect the privacy of all those who use our website. We will do what we can not to share your personal information with any other site, unless legally required to do so. We want all who love God to feel safe on our site and do our best to maintain the highest privacy standards. We hope all who use our site will remember that no actions are hidden from God.

Perhaps we could somehow initiate some sort of legal action?

Or better yet! Given the theme of this week, we ask them for the address and could tell them "The Lord needs it."

Thoughts?

EDIT: I just fired off an email to Pastor Bryson. Hopefully that will work! Also, "Erin Cole" is very similar to what one might call an "errant colt", so perhaps that's even further confirmation.

Re: NYWC Nashville

I was looking at the timeline for when each of the virtues go up and the last is around the time of the last NYWC in Nashville. I'm going. Is anyone else?
And do you think anything interesting will happen there?!

A couple of pages late, but...
My wife and I are going to NYWC Nashville.
I was so disappointed that the CoV event was at the one in Sacramento and not Nashville, but maybe something will culminate there.

I do know this - last time I went to NYWC on Nashville, something happened that changed my life. Rob Bell was a General session speaker, and it was the debut/premiere/first screenings of NOOMA #1 and 2. If this game centers around his new book, maybe something significant to the game will happen there.

Mark Ostreicher, president of Youth Specialties (who puts on the NYWC, and who must certainly have cooperated with TPTB in this game) posted on his blog about this thing yesterday. Check it out at: http://www.ysmarko.com/?p=3672 if you want. I left a comment linking folks here who might want to get involved.

I've also left a comment on straytabby's LJ to covertly (well, not too covertly) ask about the address, on the off chance she can get back on and reply.

I decided to send an email to contactSPLATcitizensofvirtue.com asking for the link to the online directory. Here is the reply that I got from Anna Gimble:

Quote:
Dear Chris,

Are you missing the A-F directory, the G-N, or the O-Z directory?

Yours in Faith,

I asked for the A-F directory to try to locate Erin Cole. Hope it was the right thing to do!

OCT 15 Inspiration

Quote:
Before you venture into dark

nor is the beginning ordained.

Some people think this is in reference to the F and E in 'foregone' being removed to form the word 'Oregon'. The context of the sentence doesn't seem to bear that out. I'm not sure, but I think this is referring more to the 'dark territory' portion of the sentence. Does anyone have other thoughts or potential other meanings?
