I figured we would have seen something on Tabitha's LJ by now saying she'd been released.
Did I miss something?

Tabby's video mentions Camp Francis, and says: "the pictures might be nice ... but it's terrible". The Camp Francis page (linked from the main CofV page) has 9 pictures at the bottom. I looked at them the other day, and some look suspicious, especially in the ways some of the kids are posing (I couldn't make anything out of them Semaphore-wise -- apart from some Semaphorish positions, there is a picture of flags. First 3 pics could conceivably be something like A-T-R, but then I start to think it might just be wishful thinking). Especially since Tabby mentions the pix, they might be worth looking at further.

I know Eric Berlin has spent a long time staring at those photos. My guess is that, as with the VENT puzzle, we can stare until our eyes fall out, but it won't matter because it isn't self-contained; we'll need something else in order to tease a message out of it.

Back to the CAS RNs:

If you string together the five checksum digits (the single ones at the end) you get another valid CAS RN: 87-24-1. This is for something called "Ethyl 2-methylbenzoate" or "ethyl o-toluate"; it doesn't seem to be a particularly "famous" substance (as opposed to things like caffeine or ritalin). I've submitted "Is CAS #87-24-1 an antidote?" to Douglas Kressig via that box at the bottom of the Common Questions page on the off chance that it's right.

Springing off the theory that "Howling Mad" can refer to the initials HM (because of the A-Team character), I wonder if the answer to today's inspiration is simply the letter T.
