What is your opinion on the Cloverfield monster, Clover?

I think it's both awesome and saddening.

You see, I think it's awesome because it was a nice approach to making a monster that doesn't look like your generic, Godzilla-esque creature. I know Neville Page made it clear that he wanted to design a monster that was more so scared, than it was actually frightening to us humans. The fact that it suffers from separation anxiety is a nice touch in making a unique monster, especially since it plays a key role in destroying Manhattan because it's in a foreign venue and isn't familiar with its surrounding.

What I found saddening about the monster, though, is that despite the fact that it looks and sounds awesome, we only see it for a brief amount of time between multiple intervals in the movie. It's supposed to be the highlight of the movie, but felt more like a secondary character. And I guess I can understand that because you wouldn't expect to see the camera viewing the monster every 5 seconds like the paparazzi on Britney Spears.

Discuss your thoughts and opinions on the Cloverfield monster, Clover.

well i think that clover is the best example of today's modern visual FX at its best like the 2002 film "reign of fire" where they too used very realistic visual effects so i think they used alot of realism and did one hell of a job it! Smile

What is the point of you, honestly, logging on to comment on how bad my posts are, when you don't even contribute to them yourself? If you feel they're bad, and that it's wasting your time, then simply don't post in them. Sorry to say, but you're just making yourself look like a complete a**hole. This isn't Youtube, this is Unfiction -- where the quality of posting comments are set to a much higher degree of maturity and respectability.

And don't use "no offense" as your scapegoat. That doesn't warrant your actions.

No seriously this post did suck and i dont mean it to offend, its not your fault the majority of your posts suck...its my fault i dont log on enough to right people's bad posts. And mainly why i say it sucks is because you have a promissing title but when i click the post all i see is a picture of a CloverField toy which i must add sucks in comparison to the real monster.

The whole point of my post was for you and others to actually read the content, more so than actually looking at the picture. Why is it so hard to have a decent question answered? It shouldn't be too hard to get a response when asking, "what is your opinion on the monster?" You want to call out my posts because they suck, do yourself a favor and log off because I don't want to hear it.

To BranJ: Yeah that was mean...not saying you should apologize, but it was uncalled for.

My opinion about the toy: Hasbro sucks for not shipping it to Europe.
