There is something i noticed and didn't know if was of any use but... when revealing the code of the page http://love-resurrected.com i found a "content" list (think it works like tags, not sure, i know nothing about webmastering) : love resurrected, gina, gina borys, music, guitar, CD, arg, Subdermal.
What caught my attention is of course "Subdermal" because i don't have any clue of what it stands for... Any idea?

Um my immediate guess was a microchip implant. Most people put one in their pets incase they're lost. Well Gina is missing, could we maybe track her through GPS (can be a tracking device) or could someone scan her neck with a scanner for the RFIDs for pets.

Some people have actually implanted their kids with them if they're rich kids in an area that's known for kidnapping. They're also great if people have severe allergies...iit's still kind of experimental in humans.

I'm probably wrong though since Subdermal implants are a type of body modification.

Although the idea of finding Gina through a GPS implant sounds pretty normal for an ARG, I don't think this is the case. Like you said, it's a body modification. Real, but still too sci-fi. This seems more like an emotional- and character-driven plot, so it's unlikely.

EDIT: Plus, I didn't notice any piercings or even tattoos on Gina...

Can someone point me to where the 7226 pin number for the ginafeedback page was found?

One of the posts references a page in the journal, but I'm not seeing it.

Its kinda driving me crazy...

I made recordings of all of the audio on the various phones, just in case someone wants it.

As I went through the site, I took notes and posted them on my blog: sneakybastard.com

I still want to make a road trip to the site, but haven't got the time for it now.

That's kinda odd - it used to be there, it was written down the left-hand side of the April 5th entry... I had to check thebruce's notes on page 1 of this thread to be completely sure I'd seen it. Weird.

Okay just a quick aside on the GPS chip idea, if you look at the police report Drew has a mole or something on the side of his neck under his ear. Just a thought

Notes from the second guy to reach the site

Reached the site Sunday 10/6/8 3:00 p.m. Identified the spot to dig, from the disturbed dirt and the fact that the bag was partially exposed. The headstone rock with initials "DR" was absent.

Y'all, this game is designed to be playable by anyone who discovers it, whenever and however they find the trailhead. This is not supposed to be a game where you play once and it's dead for everybody. The object to find was a geocache. Geocache's are meant to be found over and over as the next person plays the game.

After leaving the bumper sticker, how did y'all expect the next person to find it when the the stone marker was not replaced? I looked for it, turning over a lot of rocks. Found a lot of ants, but no rocks with initials. The spot is now marked with a cairn.

Also, why did you "bury" the bumper sticker in a Hardee's bag instead of the box the cache was originally in? Geocaches are usually left in something resistent to the elements, so that whatever you left can be found reasonably intact by the next person or group to play. A Hardees bag inside a ripped plastic bag partially covered by a quarter-inch of loose dirt won't survive the next hard rain. Your flickr photos show a perfectly servicable box intended to house the items as the game goes on.

I really am impressed by the determination to head out to an isolated recreation area in the dead of night to be the first to find it. That's hardcore, and I deeply respect that. But I don't think you understood that the game is continual for everyone who finds it next. Once you find the cache, it's important to reset the clues so the game can still be played. Your speed in finding it is highly commendable, but the execution of how you left the site was really sloppy.

After getting back home I completed the game by sending roseSPLATlove-resurrected.com an email, as the note you found suggests. The reply I got back suggests that the first solvers have not done that yet. I strongly urge you to do so by the 13th to get full credit for the first solve.

The email I got (which I won't post because it's personal from the PuppetMaster-in-Chief) also said that the spot will be marked again with a new headstone by the 13th, so the game can continue for others. Meanwhile, if anyone else want to find it, look for a pile of stones where the marker would be. And, if you are the next to find it, please 1) let Rose know, and 2) reset the site so others can still play the game to find what you left.

On another note, I saw the idea floated to upload some of the tracks from the CD. Two of them are already posted for free at Gina's main site http://www.myspace.com/ginaborys and you can download most of the rest there for 99 cents. While you're at it you should also check out Gina's other band, Moby Chick: http://www.myspace.com/mobychickband . I first saw her perform with them, and was impressed that she can get sounds of a one-necked guitar that Jimmy Page needed a two-necked guitar to create. I've seen Gina twice solo and twice with Moby Chick, and she has a great live show with both; if you're in the LA area and she's playing she's definitely worth checking out.

In fact, her myspace page was how I discovered the game. It reminded me of a game I'd followed years ago as a member of Cloudmakers. It's been a blast to play, and I hope people can enjoy playing it for a long time to come.

I apologize about the headstone thing and take full responsibility. Since FecianeA organized the trip and drove he kept the swag. I felt a little sad about that so I snagged the only thing left, the rock. I know that's pretty lame but we honestly didn't expect anyone to drive all the way out there for the bumper sticker. Since the game clues were gone we didn't think anyone would bother with the trip.

We've also never done a geocache before. We didn't even have a GPS to go out there with (hence why it took us so long to find it). We put the sticker in the same bags the box came in. There was some writing on the bottom of the box that could have been a clue so I think that's why it was taken (although now we think it was probably just writing on the wood from the manufacturer). Also, we tore the box up pretty good so there wasn't much "box" left to put something in. Also, by this point it was after midnight and we'd bee out there looking for a couple of hours. So I sincerely apologize for our lack of consideration for any other players possibly going out there.

In regards to e-mailing Rose, I completely forgot and actually only hopped on this thread to get the address and do that now.

[EDIT] If the PM's don't want to go through the hassle/expense of making a new rock, I'd be happy to give it back.
[EDIT2] I'll admit I've felt a twinge of guilt every time I've seen it on my floor.

Faeryqueen, don't beat yourself up over the rock, swag has always been part of ARGs. And I know there was some thought that by finding the box it was actually endgame. But I guess we'll have to see what the 13th brings and treat this more like a geocache than an ARG.

ETA* It's nice that the powers that be are replacing the marker. Smile

In all fairness, I didn't know this was a geocache. How did you? Admittedly, I haven't read through the whole diary, so perhaps it was stated there. Just curious.

it is, actually, stated at the end of the diary... not as a geocache specifically, but with instructions:
Quote:
If you're going to come out here, be sure to bring a shovel. You'll need to use it under the rock that has Drew's initials engraved on it.

If you find what you're looking for please take some pictures and contact Rose at: roseSPLATlove-resurrected.com. I should be out of the woods by then and I'd love to check out your story and what you've found... Rose might even post it for others to see as well.

If you would like to continue this adventure for someone else, you can take what's there and leave a little something in the box for the next person.

This has been a cleansing experience for me and I hope that it will be for you too.

gina

so technically, they seem to have left room for someone not leaving its contents for the next person =P
and technically while it doesn't say it's a "geocache", the retrievers did follow instructions - they left something for the next person to find and report to Rose on. Confused It doesn't say to leave the in-game content, but that they can "take what's there".

The way I see it, the instructions gave two options: take what's there and leave something behind for the next person to report to Rose about, or leave it all there and just take pictures.

Ah, thanks thebruce. I sorta remember the part about leaving something in case someone else bothered to find the box. Not being a geocacher myself, I didn't see it as such. My mistake. Very Happy

Hey, has anybody noticed that "Carolyn" (in one of Gina's photos) and "Heather" are the same person?

Check out: http://viewmorepics.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=viewImage&friendID=64052225&albumID=505076&imageID=25345855

And: http://viewmorepics.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=viewImage&friendID=361692063&albumID=548817&imageID=2655562

I'm so sorry if someone already brought this up and I missed it!

Also, Dan's myspace says he is Single, as well as looking forward to meeting his "future wife." Carolyn's myspace doesn't seem to have a single labeled photo of her, and her profile pic certainly doesn't help.

Okay, I'm going to stop posting now.
