"One of the true pleasures of the Unfiction community ... is that reputation is not an issue in how discussions are handled. Everyone, no matter how well known or well liked, must rely on persuasion to justify their thoughts and opinions."

"... the continued faux-participation that becomes a problem with respect the establishment and maintenance of intra-community trust, which is fairly vital to the entire enterprise."

This is an interesting way to have a discussion (I like puzzles). I'm going to violate the form a little (because I am not quite as interested in rhetorical effect) and provide links, though:

"The thing I am seeing is that there's an ego behind much of the action being taken revolving around these matters. Respect should include some abandonment of ego for a more objective approach." (link)

"... because that post in that thread was about the DVD and had nothing directly to do with the MTH blog, it was basically out of context ..." (link)

I quoted those because I couldn't say it better. I didn't attribute them because I was curious to see who would call me stupid for not knowing how things 'really work' here because I am far newer to unFiction than most.

It's OK though, I guess I'm not equal here. I'd be happy to explain anything about where you've quoted me if that's what you desire, without insulting you for bringing it up. I accept the fact I posted it, and an not above explaining it if you wish. I'll even explain why I posted those previous quotes, if you really wish to listen.

Let me know when someone does call you stupid for not knowing how things 'really work' here.

I can only speak for myself in saying that I consider the merit of your ideas as I would consider anyone else's. I happen to disagree with you on some accounts, and if I've been remiss in explaining my logic, I apologize. If you want me to understand your point of view (as expressed above), please explain it. I don't think I've insulted you, that I can recall. If responding to your post using that same style in which you posted it is insulting, I posit that you were insulting someone when you posted it. I am quite interested in listening to your ideas. If I wasn't, I would not have replied.

Agreed!

I second this.

Also, Nazis. And might I add, Hitler.

You know that a peaceful resolution has been reached when we're busting a gut over Hitler-pastry mashups. Laughing

This does not hold a candle to Pastry Wars.

Now back to other matters...
