Addison is a Scottish name meaning "son of Adam," which ties into the biblical theme.

On the other hand, it definitely sounds like an anagram to me, especially because it contains "saint."

It is also Add i son Say t her - four not meaningless words. Also i+t = it. That means five words: say, son, add, her, it.

Like Nedostrup I thought Addison Sayther screamed anagram. The only one I came up with that I liked at all was: history a sad end

I guess I'll jump on this one since TWIW is on hiatus for the time being...

Anyone know anything about "Amanuensis?" If you look at the page source that's the email addy of the "sendtoemail" function.

Also the "sea of glass" quote is from Revelation 15:2, specifically of the King James Bible.

Among other things, its means somthing like a minion to a higher power. Sort of like a prophet but more slave-like.

This trail is turning out to be very religious/culty

I've mostly seen "amanuensis" to mean scribe or someone who writes copies of the Bible or other sacred texts by hand.

All what you write in the form will be sent on this email. So it's quite logical. Amanuensis should check mail.

Ahead Dirty Sons! hahaha, anagram finder, always fun.

anyways, moving forward. Addison Sayther does feel like an anagram... unfortunately, I'd be fairly unscathed if it fell into a religious context word in latin... out of rev 15.:2, even...

[quote=WorldEnglishBible]I saw something like a sea of glass mixed with fire, and those who overcame the beast, his image, and the number of his name, standing on the sea of glass, having harps of God.[/quote]

I'm reading through revelations 15, latin, looking for any similar string to compare with the name... not much luck with it, yet.

Registration!

The registration page for the live NYC event has gone up.

http://www.prototype161.com/registration

It's $40/head. Well worth it for puzzle construction alone if past events are any indication. And after all the actors they had working the last game this summer... Well, I can't wait to see what they do with a budget.

(Full disclosure: I was on the team that crossed the finish line first at the summer event, and we were greeted by a girl tied to a chair begging for help which was followed shortly by a gunfight.)

According to the email i got Addison Sayther is the leader of the cult, so i doubt its an anagram. They also sent me a photo in pdf form.

Quote:
Agent,

Something dark is brewing in New York City. Addison Sayther's doomsday
cult, known as "Mare Vitreum," appears to be ramping up to a big event
at the end of October.

...

In the meantime, agents are encouraged to begin infiltration of the
cult and to collect information. Little is known about this group; attached is
the only known photo of Sayther. Prototype agents have already
determined the group's website to be www.marevitreum.com. It is
recommended that you begin your investigation there.

It's a photo of a guy with fire behind him. You can't make out any facial detail.

Seek and Ye Shall Find

On the 1st page, I found that if you roll over the middle image, you get to see the 5 words that become invisible rollovers, they read "Seek and ye shall find" which appears twice in the bible:

1. Mat 7:7
Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:

2. Luk 11:9
And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.

maybe that will lead us somewhere?

Perhaps. Be sure to keep those verse numbers somewhere in your memory--we'll probably need them later.

In any case, I'm in on this, sure.

Some things I find curious...

The paragraph that comes up when you click on the 'sea of glass mingled with fire' ends with a reference to the Tree of Knowledge, and if you know a bit of Genesis and the story of Adam and Eve then perhaps you know that the fruit (popularly and apochryphally known as an apple) came from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil.

That central phrase is also only the beginning of the verse, which speaks of the defeat of the Beast. Those that defeated the Beast stand upon the sea of glass.

There's also a mention of 'the interconnected webs of the world'. This would seem to simple refer to the web itself. When thinking in that sort of analogy, the idea of glass mingled with fire brings silicon and energy to mind. Is this a digital apocalypse?

Doesn't look like anyone noticed this yet:

If you put your cursor over the center, you see the words "seek and ye shall find" but not in order. However, if you remember where each word is located, and then put your cursor over that word (it's invisible, so you have to remember exactly where it is) then suddenly something else appears--a handwritten note, different for each word.

this not how we are distinct from beasts,

Eternal Intellect our greatest joy and
one of the greatest mysteries?

those who hear the calling will encounter

one day the veil shall

Also this probably isn't relevant, but if you draw a line between the words so that it says "seek and ye shall find" you'll end up with a W
Code:
                 ye
seek                             find
           and           shall
