OK, I seem to have been a bit behind you all up until this point. I'm o glad I finally have something to offer up to the community after all the tagging along I've done Very Happy

Here's what I sent Brandon about The Fallen:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Brandon,

I know you don't know me, but I've seen your site. I think it's important that you know that ASOG is trying to use its new initiates to get information out of you on people who have escaped their cult. Keep their information safe, Brandon. Don't let the ASOG get them again!

I've included the email they sent out to us below.

~Amanda~

Here's what I got back from him:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Don't worry, Amanda, I'm good at keeping secrets Smile

"The fallen" have moved on with their lives. ASOG wouldn't even recognize them, probably. Pallid is a teacher now, educating children about the true evil that exists in the world. And Pallid is still very close with Juan, despite both being in hiding.

So I'm not worried about them. These people are in hiding, but are still living happy and full lives.

Thanks for the info, keep up the good work!

- Brandon

I was also going to post a guide to the third puzzle, but it seems Infinitum beat me to it while I was typing. Oh well, that's what i get for playing at work Wink

Hope some of this was a help or hint to someone. Let me know if you derive anything from it, cause I'm working at it but I'm a bit stumped right now

~Amanda~

notes:
clicking A gives you 2 purples (A & N).
clicking T gives you a green T, and 2 H's Red then Blue.

all the letters that appear are 'clickable', and most the letters that are 'clickable' appear as dots.
ABDEGHILNORSTW
exceptions - B, W doesn't appear as dots.
There are 24 dots total.
Frequency:

# of dots:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):

Green only:
click N gives you O, click O gives you T, click T gives you T. (stop)

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
green = NOT
Spoiler (Rollover to View):

Aside from the lack of a Z, the other anomaly is that when you click T, the H shows a red dot and then a blue dot.

Solution:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
"The world ends not with a bang...." is the start of a quote by TS Eliot. then end of the quote is "but with a whimper." Whimper is the next code

transcript of what is behind door number three:

Quote:
You have done well to come this far.

The time of your initiation draws near. But as we approach this monumental date, a grave danger has appeared which threatens to ruin all.

You have heard of the renegades called The Fallen. They are not merely lost souls who have strayed from the path, but fiends who have stolen from me. From us. I charge you, all who read this, to recover what they took.

We know only this, yielded by one of the renegades:

85004.0192831399
52404.0-8362-2136-2
63131.0872207781
94102.0156012197
10016.1-883011-65-5

Use it to locate my missing artifacts. Be swift, for doubtless there are others who covet these same things we seek. You must recover them first.

Time is short. Do not fail me.

~A.S.

Maybe a deaddrop? Maybe 5 dead drops?

Edit:
the first 5 digits of each line could be zip codes:
Phoenix, Cedar Rapids, St. Louis suburb, San Francisco, New York City

Code:
85004. 0  1928  31  39   9
52404. 0 -8362 -21  36  -2
63131. 0  8722  07  78   1
94102. 0  1560  12  19   7
10016. 1 -8830  11 -65  -5

Hey guys, listen. It seems a bunch of us have gotten just a few bits of information about these Fallen.... and I haven't wanted to show my hand, but it looks like the only way we're going to work this out is if we all share what we've got, no?

Also, I'm in NYC and will be available to go physically to a dead drop if we figure out where it is. I was also thinking zip codes, and 10016 is Murray Hill. Let me know if there's something that needs to be walked to and looked at. I also know some folks in SF who might be able to do the same.

Oh right, I forgot to say what we knew already. One of my team members (I'm actually going on this hunt on Friday night, if anyone has any helpful information I'd appreciate it) posed as a little sister to a cult member and asked for help, Brandon said:
Quote:
Can you still get in touch with your sister? Maybe an intervention is the right thing, even if it's severe. It might also help to get in touch with an ex-cult member. I know one who is now a priest in Austin who might be perfect for this sort of thing. Or maybe my friend Garnet, another ex-culter... (that's a code name, of course. I can't give out real names!) I'll be in touch with them and let you know, but it might take a while.
and we haven't heard from him since.

Regarding these numbers, something that's probably a dead end:

0192831399is the ISBN for How Free Are You?: The Determinism Problem by Ted Honderich.
0-8362-2136-2is the ISBN for It's A Magical World: A Calvin and Hobbes Collection by Bill Waterston, a book I happen to actually own.
0872207781 is the ISBN for Walden Two by B.F. Skinner.
0156012197 is the ISBN for The Little Prince by Antoine De Saint- Exupery.
1-883011-65-5 is the ISBN for American Sermons: The Pilgrims to Martin Luther King Jr. by Michael Warner.

Okay so yes, that's interesting, but what difference does it make? These are all books you can buy on amazon, so I don't know where to go with this. What's relevant about the American Sermons being in Murray Hill?

If it one of the locations does turn out to be Cedar Rapids, I'm close by.

Nice work as usual, sapagoo!

GREAT JOB!!
There is probably a library in each of these area codes!
I know there is a branch of the NYC library in 10016.

There is probably an artifact in the specific book in each library.
Now we just need to document the libraries.

american sermons

Ok, I am thinking that the ISBN theory could hold water. I live near the New York Public Library (the famous one with the lions out front) which is in 10016, and I am going to go hop on the subway and go check out to see if there's anything in that book.

Anyone in the other zip codes, or know anyone in them who could get to the public library quickly?

I'll let you know what I find.

Oh man, you're right - there's a public library in each of those zip codes. I'm finding out if they have a copy of the NY one at that library, if they do I'll go pick it up this afternoon.

Anyone know somebody in Phoenix or St. Louis?

Ringerud - if you haven't left yet, don't - I called the Mid-Manhattan library and they're holding the book for me. It's not the one with the lions out front!

if there is something to take, then leave something in it's place so people know you've been there.

AwesomeRingerud is my roommate, and he already took off to go up there to check out the book. He knows it's not the library with the lions, it's the smaller library on 5th ave. Anyway you could get the hold taken off that book, or transferred over to him, he's already on his way up, he'll be there in 15 minutes.

And the only branch we've got covered at of 11am EDT is the NYC library.

I won't be able to make it to Cedar Rapids until after work. Looks like they have 3 copies of the Calvin and Hobbes book.
