Has anyone recieved anything?

coins..

i think we're waiting for the coins so we can then get the teeth. i've been keeping my eye on the &_coin command on the EPWA website, nothing yet. we need to get the "mugshots" from there so we can figure out who to get the coins from.

Street personalities
hmmm?

If I'm right and I will need to check, the broadcast mentioned that you would be able to get coins from hobos and street personalities. This makes me think of the Frank Chu card http://www.flickr.com/photos/31067456@N07/2990547656/in/set-72157608544368792/
Could he be involved I don't know but it might be worth looking in to.
Check out his wiki page

Good idea B,

I would think that makes sense. I dont live in the city, so I really hate following a hunch. Anyone who lives a bit closer than me think they could check it out?

Or do you think we should just wait??

I'm thinking we hold on a bit longer. Call it a hunch. We're the advanced guard that moves quickly, so to speak. I reckon new options will become clear soon enough.

BTW, for those who cannot come to SF to listen to the airwaves, check the EPWA's download section for a new goodie.

2nd Cyper

I found out that there is a second C. Fourteen cypher on the EPWA site.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
If you answer "Yes" about getting the tooth, but answer incorrectly about who the tooth belonged to, you get a totally different set of numbers. I suspect if you answer correctly you also get something entirely different.

For those who don't know what I'm talking about,

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
You have to follow the directions on the secret track of the CD, follow what you get at the end, and all will be clear.

Actually JTony, that cypher actually spells out the exact same thing. The message is a bit different, that is why the cypher changes.

Ahh, makes sense.

I did find another quirk on epwa. I'm sure it means nothing, but it was sort of fun. If you say, "&_ok" the the first "how are you" question you get a brief story about a very strange plane ride. I'm sure there are other places where you get something different depending on what you enter. Oh, and the tooth is neither Thaddeus' nor Eva's as far as the answers go.

You know what Cryptic Radio reminds me of?
Art Bell's Coast to Coast.

There's a radio show that veers into a lot of what some might call fringe territory. Upcoming topics for the next three days include: UFO Incursions, Earth Changes, and Synchronicities. Check out Coast to Coast AM (now mostly hosted by George Noory) and listen to it at http://www.coaststream.com/.

Sort of related: A couple years ago I was driving with some friends upstate late at night, and I was determined to tune in to Art Bell if he was out there. We searched the AM band and instead ended up listening to some radio host trying to make the case that women never should've been allowed the vote. WTF?! This is recent radio, gang, it's rough out there.

Frank Chu

I spoke briefly with Mr. Chu after not getting a "judge" wrist band at the Norcal Grilled Cheese Invitational to-day. I asked if he had any coins/hobo coins for sale, and he indicated via a short series of "no"s that he did not/didn't know what I was talking about. I would still suggest asking him if you encounter him; he may be supplied with said coins in the near future, or perhaps I wasn't making myself clear enough. Alright guys, not sure exactly what's happening but I've been talking to some of the shop owners mentioned in the broadcast, and I think we might be contacted on March 1st. They were talking about receiving the "teeth" around that time. I'll let you know when the time is right.

But dont worry, things are a happenin' Wink

I'll let you know if anything happens.

Hey guys, well I was just playing around, and remember how our "organization" is called SOFTPORN? (Social Outsiders For The Prevention Of Relative Normality) well, I decided to make up a hobo-glyph and a descriptor for what we are doing (along with a logo for a website I'm trying to get a hold of)

too Late?

Do you think I'm too late on this?
I found a flyer for it yesterday, but wont be able to go to the induction until tuesday at least.

I have been eagerly hoping to run accidentally into an ARG in sf since i moved here a couple of years ago.

Has anyone been to the induction center recently? Are they still taking people in?

S.

As far as I know, yes. I'm sure there would be an announcement if they closed down the center.

Also, when you finish your induction, make sure to check out Dolores Park and listen to Radio Nonchalance!

When you start off, things might be a bit confusing (the lore behind Nonchalnce is quite convoluted, but very interesting). We will be happy to help you out with any questions you may have!

When you go to the induction center, make sure to bring: water, comfortable shoes, a coat if it is cold, maybe a backpack or something, and $1.05 (you'll need to purchase something).

Good luck! And welcome to Nonchalance Wink
