Glad to hear you finally got that sorted out, months later! Shouldn't take you long to get the thing apart now.

Demise rumour?

here's a long letter I got regarding the SONIC WARP and its puzzles...
Probably not news to anyone who has one of these, but it was news to me...

Dear All

PLEASE EXERCISE EXTREME CAUTION IN ANY CURRENT OR FUTURE DEALINGS WITH ANDREW REEVES, SONICWARP OR SONIC GAMES

Firstly thank you for the innumerable responses and support in this matter.

As promised I have provided below an update and would advise further in due course.

As a consequence of the actions of Andrew Reeves I can confirm:

THE INSOLVENCY SERVICE

It has been confirmed that my complaint against Andrew Reeves is being investigated by the Companies Investigation Branch. To maintain an effective investigation process I must adopt a process of confidentiality, however I will advise the outcome of the complaint.

WEST MERCIA POLICE

I can confirm an official complaint has been made to West Merica Police.

On the disclosure of relevant documentation the Police have confirmed there is sufficient evidence to interview Mr Reeves in relation to section 19 (1) of the Theft Act 1968 False statements by company directors etc.

Interestingly, if found guilty, Mr Reeves could be imprisoned for a term not exceeding 7 years.

CIVIL LITIGATION

I have today instructed solicitors to commence legal proceedings against both Sonicwarp and Andrew Reeves. We intend to issue a winding up petition against Sonicwarp and make Andrew Reeves personally bankrupt. I am also aware the Xavier Engineering Limited are also issuing a winding up petition against Sonicwarp for unpaid debts of £52,000.

Investigations have confirmed that Sonic Games are incorrectly advertising that Sonicwarp, sonicwarp.co.uk, sonicwarp.com and the ISIS Adventure are all now brands of Sonic Games and Sonicwarp has ceased trading. This information is incorrect and this activity is illegal.

Information is also inaccurately being advertised that all the creditors of Sonicwarp have been contacted and all debt has been repaid. This information is wrong on both counts.

Should you wish to contact either Andrew Reeves, Sonic Games or Soniwarp they are trading from a private, rented, residential dwelling at, 6 Cavendish Close, Bicton Heath, Shewsbury, SY3 5PG. Tel: 01743 363 888

Finally as I am sure everybody understands the above processes take time but I will advise the conclusion in due course.

Thank you again for your overwhelming support.

Anthony Heaton
Former Director and sole supplier of all funding to Sonicwarp.

Dear Sirs

At a board meeting of Sonicwarp Limited on 1st October 2009 when the company accounts were audited it was established that Andrew Reeves and Jacqueline Champion had carried out a pre-meditated exercise of asset stripping the company in order to force it to cease trading. These actions have allowed them to financially prosper yet avoid any debt owed to yourselves.

As a Director of the company I immediately resigned and have reported their actions to the Companies Investigation Branch of The Insolvency Service as I can not condone this illegal activity. As the provider of all the funding to the company I will be taking further action against Mr Reeves and Miss Champion.

Should you decide to take similar action I can confirm that the company that is in receipt of the illicit funding is Sonic Games Limited, Company No: 06815088. They can be contacted at 6 Cavendish Close, Bicton Heath, Shrewsbury, SY3 5PG.

Finally whilst I would like to personally apologise for any inconvenience Sonicwarp has caused to you or your company I can confirm that prior to the recent board meeting I had no knowledge of their actions or intentions.

Anthony Heaton

I know somone (socalsteve) spoke to the company but they would say it was all ok wouldn't they?

Would like to get my teeth into this series but loathed to part if support etc is going to end.

I know if I was in AR's shoes and the above letter was true, I would have told me what he told me. That being said, I believe that the originator of that letter was looking for others to back him, and anyone whos into the SW puzzles knows that by bringing down SW we all lose more than we gain.

Isis III comes out later this year, if SW is still around then, I think it would be safe to buy into the set. If you are still leary, wait until after the release date and you know the puzzles are in the customers hands.

Then again, if you want an amazing puzzle of this quality and you want amazing customer service and puzzles that are always constructed properly, checkout RevoMaze. I think their puzzles are much better. Also most RevoMazers are also SW puzzlers. Come to the Revomaze forum and ask around.

Mr Heatons Letters
Is there really anything seriously wrong?

Mr Heatons letters puzzled me when I first saw them on this forum in December. They make him sound more like someone a little peeved rather than planning major litigation. We know that Mr Heaton did not post the letters onto the forum but he must have realised that sooner or later they would appear there.

He says that he has instructed solicitors in the matter. If so, then those solicitors would certainly have told him to leave the matter to them and not to write badly constructed missives to persons in influential positions, some of whom may have an interest in the case.

We note that those major retailers that Sonicwarp refer to as partners still allow them to display their logos on the SW website. Surely, if they thought that something was amiss in the relationship then this concession would, by now, be removed.

Mr Heaton claims that he is the supplier of funding to Sonicwarp. As lack of funds has been Mr Reeves main problem for the whole of SW's existence one wonders how good a job Mr Heaton did.

Andrew Heaton Letters

Looking elsewhere you can find someone else who sadly does not think much of the whole setup...

Also note that Wired Magazine rated their top 100 gadgets for 2009. RevoMaze ranked 10. Isis and Ramisis...? not even listed... gotta wonder why!

I guess that the Heaton letters have been leaked and as has been said he will have been advised not to respond hence nothing on here!

As for theRevomaze it looks great! Will be getting one v soon, It half the price and presumably without the empty promises.
Some other cool stuff on that list... thanks for the link Smile

Dragons Den Disaster

I was curious so watched the dragons den presentation

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7mVeqVxx5o8

They say that the Sonicwarp didn't even have the design for the isis and were having to 'reverse engineer' to get the drawings! And it wasn't exactly hugely endorsed by the den before this admission.

PS Blue Revomaze ordered and coming soon - can't wait.

Hi all, I'm pretty new to solving puzzles in general especially the Isis series, so im not sure if my Ramisis isn't defective. When i recieved it it seemed to work fine. Layer 0, Layer 1, and the top most layer were turning independently. I was fidgeting with it in bed as soon as i got it (so it would be upside down with the point facing the ground, and noticed that the layers would turn clockwise but not counter past a certain point, after turning it clockwise and counter for a while, Layer 0 would turn but layer 1 and the top most layer locked together. I havent unlocked the key yet, and i can hear the ball bearing in layer 0. Is there something busted with my Ramesis? any clue as to how i can unlock the top layers so i can turn them to get the ball bearing up to the top layer?

edit: I've confirmed the bearing is in layer 0, and inverting the Ramisis does not free up the top piece from layer 1. I havent opened the key chamber yet. Is this thing defective? should I hit it with a rubber mallet or some thing (i read somewhere you had to whack the Isis to get it started.)

The furthest I've gotten the bearing somewhere in the lower part of layer 1, (confirmed with a magnet) do i need tobe able to turn the top piece thats stuck to unlock teh key chamber?

Almost

Hello, I have checked out this forum before but have just gotten around to registering till now. Too bad the hype for Ramisis has just about died.

Anyway, I have managed to get all the way up on my puzzle then reach the "shaft". I think i am really close but am somewhat cautious. Which direction do i need to turn to release the keychamber? I have a horrible feeling I'll screw up and don't want to take the chance...
So if anyone could let me know or pm me, that would be much appreciated!

Shaft

When you got it in the shaft you're really close.
When you get it all the way down you should be able to feel if the direction is wright ,if it is wrong it'll be easier to turn.If you turned it the wrong way your bb is back where you started and you need to do it again. If the top two layers block at the back then you allready did it once wright but the keychamber didn't come out and that means you have to do it again aswell. If the top blocked at the back try to remember the way you rotated it that time so next time you can do it in the opposite direction.
