My phone is not supported, but a friend of mine told me about this software to use your phone as a barcode scanner.

I'm fairly sure it's Aztec, first, for all the reasons Bruce explained, and second because <meta>
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
the PM has used it before
</meta>.

@sirpoins >> That's what I was calling a false positive, because it was grabbing part of the image to read.

I also mashed it up again and there was no difference between the results of my mashup and TheBruce's.

There are lots of libraries out there, if I'm understanding the google hits rightly, including a .NET application, so I suppose if someone were a codemonkey he or she could put something together. Nighthawk? Anyone?

Or we could send it to bctester and have them look at it. They do invite that, but since it's Friday night in Germany we probably wouldn't get anything until Monday at the earliest. I am now officially out of ideas.

Definitely Aztec.

I have QRCode and Data Matrix decoders, but nothing that can read Aztec. These programs don't have Help or About, so I don't even remember where they came from.

Perhaps finding the programs I have will lead us to a program that works?

ETA:

Aztec decoder can apparently be found HERE:

http://www.qualitysoft.de/index_en.html?/en/download_eval_form.htm

...but it's still not decoding. Maybe the positions are wrong?

yeah, nighthawk, that's bcTester, what we've been trying for some time now Wink
That's the first one I always use because of its wide support and usability.

I've got some guys on another forum working on it, but to no avail. One of them said
Quote:
I tried decoding the inner-ring both clockwise and counter clockwise and changing the starting point so that it encompassed all 8 iterations of binary numerals using this translator:

http://www.paulschou.com/tools/xlate/

I got nothing.

I'm not sure what else to do.

I know; I don't read good and couldn't find the thing.

Thanks! Very Happy

I emailed the last member of the psychosis trio and let him know that I know people in Germany if he needs for someone to pick up a drop...

I'll post a reply if/when I get one..

Bryan sure doesn't seem logically linked to Miami or Houston. I wonder what its importance is.

The psychosis guy is going to update the website with the location of the drop in Bryan...

He said that after the drop he's heading for Germany.

He also asked if we've figured out the code he sent yet...arrrrghhh!

I'll quote him on this one..

Quote:

any idea what the code i sent says? thats they only way we managed to get it out of the Frankfurt Crowne HQ. The one that made it is no longer among us so i cant be of any help. Ive tried everything, unless the pictures are upside down or double encrypted.

I don't know if there is a hint there or not...maybe!

Flipping it horizontally or vertically makes bcTester at least detect it as an Aztec bar code, but still can't decode it because "the quality of the barcode is too low for recognition."

On the x114 page there is a square cut out of the black that surrounds the earth on the bottom right of the page. Can everyone see that or just my craptastic computer? Could it be that the Aztec box fits there? Why else might it be like that? Sorry if this is old info.

That's new. Update in progress? New music, anyway.

The error message in bctest tells you to decrease scan distance, etc. but if you pick aztec in the settings you can't do that. hmmm.

Yeah, I noticed the white square, but it doesn't seem to hold anything in particular. Maybe they just overlooked it when they last updated it? But I don't think putting the 2D barcode there would do anything. The only possible thing would be to make the size of the barcode match that of the white square, but it's a barcode nonetheless, size doesn't really matter (as far as I know).

EDIT: Tried resizing, nothing. We're so stuck....

I think it's trying to link to this video:

It could be from a boarding pass. That doesn't help us much, but just a thought.
