[UPDATE]Final Hans Email and Site Update W/ Dossiers

New email from Hans...looks like there isn't much more to this game...

Here's the contents:

Quote:
Namaste.

I am pleased to announce that registered recruits can now log in and download your personalized Volunteer Assessment Dossier outlining your full test results as well as your position within the Dharma Initiative.

I want to personally congratulate you on behalf of everyone at the Dharma Initiative for your hard work and diligence during our testing process.

We hope that you are happy with your results. We certainly are. The tests were extremely challenging and the aptitude and excellence displayed far exceeded our expectations.

Now that you are in possession of your results I am sure you are asking the obvious question: what's next?

Our plan was that together we would commence a glorious adventure: the revival of the Dharma Initiative using the myriad talents of all our amazing new recruits. We imagined not just fulfilling long abandoned goals but taking the Dharma Initiative to a new level of greatness as an organization promoting the peaceful social and technological advancement of all humankind.

Then the financial crisis struck.

Sadly, our benefactors were not immune to this crisis. In fact, unconfirmed reports suggest that much of the money designated for the work of the new Dharma Initiative was tied up in highly leveraged mortgage derivatives. This, however, cannot be confirmed because, I am sorry to report, the principals representing the benefactors - my employers - have gone missing. Based on bills still coming into our office we believe they are somewhere in South America.

This stunning reversal of fortune has forced us to abandon our ambitious plans. In fact, absent this funding, the Dharma Initiative was forced to make the only sensible decision we had available: we sold the Dharma Initiative to the television show LOST.

While this might strike some of you as a shock, the reason for this was not simply that they were the only bidder. As the only remaining Dharma Initiative employee who had not fled the country, I felt that at the very least the show would be able to keep the spirit of the Dharma Initiative alive and in the public consciousness until such time as a reversal of the reversal of our economic fortunes occurs.

It is with a heavy heart that I must bid you farewell. Despite my fervent commitment to the mission of the Dharma Initiative, the realities of a broken marriage, heavy casino debt and some unfounded police charges have required that I change my present circumstances. It is with great excitement that I can inform you of my pending senior sales management job at a large multi-brand auto dealership in Dubai. I have enjoyed our brief association more than I can ever express, and if you are ever in the Middle East and need a car, please e-mail me for a special "Dharma rate".

In the meantime, you will hear shortly from LOST showrunners Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse. They will explain to you their future plans for the Dharma Initiative and how these plans might affect you.

Thank you again, personally, for your unflagging commitment and support. I hope our paths will one day cross again. In the meantime may the spirit of the island guide you.

Namaste.

Hans Van Eeghen
Head of Recruiting
The Dharma Initiative

Seems like a huge cop-out to me...very disappointed in this if this is it for the game.

The site's been updated and it says you can download your dossier, but when i click on it, it's not giving me anything. There are also some other bugs in the site...maybe they're still uploading?

*Edit- Ok, it looks like I was having troubles because I was using the Chrome browser. works fine in Firefox

*Edit 2 - I had 2 accounts. On my Cheat account looks like i'm a Research Assistant with a recommended department of "Human Interaction Analysis Program". With my non-cheat account it looks like i'm a Radio Operator in the "Communications Division". On my non-cheat account, for some reason they gave me 0 on the last 3 tests...but i took them and i know i got great scores...it even shows groups I was assigned to, but i guess the scores didn't read in for some reason. Wonder what job i would have been assigned if the scores entered correctly.

Hm. Well.

In the words of Bart Simpson, this both sucks and blows.

I was also given Research Assistant in the department of Human Interaction Analysis Program.

Not that it counts for anything.

They've decided to block DWY.com at work now. Nice.

But I bet there is someone on the Hoodlum team guffawing when he thinks "Hans van Eegan is now a car salesman... the players will get a kick out of that!" Ignoring the fact that they utterly failed in every way.

Lets hope that what this means is ABC isn't pleased with Hoodlum, and kicked them out and made substantial shifts to the game.

Was just coming here to announce this... Pretty crap.

Edit: I actually believe on reading it again, this is the way the "ARG" is supposed to be going, for want of a better way of putting it.

Edit 2: How crappy! I was made "Bricklayer" Sad

Got a question for the creators of LOST? Submit your question along
with your name and hometown, and if selected, Damon and Carlton will
answer it in a DSA announcement… that is, if you haven't been a bad
Black Swan.

I'm wondering if this really is a result of financial cutbacks and rather than letting us languish in pergatory, they gave us an "ingame" method of ending the experience.

definitely should be one of the questions submitted.

I'm not able to access it either, Nighthawk, but I'm only mildly curious about what job I was assigned in the abandoned Dharma Initiative. I figure it's as arbitrary as the group divisions were.

At this point I wish they'd simply given the test results and left it open ended. The graph about his broken marriage, debt, and police charges was unnecessary. I think Joop could've created a better experience than this one.

Seems kinda weird that ABC and the Lost team would be using a gmail to contact the creators. One would think that a proper mailbox would be set up with ABC.

Still smells fishy.

Cinematographer in the Communications Division, for barely beating the average in most categories and using no cheats. I'd written this off a long time ago, though. ...Holding out a tiny hope that "the television show LOST" will yet do something with all our interest and time...

hahaha I'm a carpenter. My results showed up as "zero" for a couple of the tests too (actually I don't think I ever took those two), so my overall average is 40. I'm gonna mail them my mensa card. But carpentry's cool. Me and the bricklayer will hang out and drink beer in the fresh air while you suckers work in the lab!

I received "proofreader" for the communications division...

Some of my scores didn't show up right either, but oh well...

It does seem that they are blaming the financial crisis for the abrupt ending...
