Total coincidence?

All right, probably total coincidence, but just curious on if anyone else thinks so. I was bummed about this just ending and all and I thought maybe there was another site somewhere that I could maybe report to as an official Dharma employee in like and underground movement and what not. Basically just killing time. Anyhoo, I went to www.dharmainitiative.com on a whim. On the site there is a countdown in the upper left corner that states a return to the island in X number of days and there is a video of a band. The name of the band? The Cheaters. I thought that was extremely coincidental given the nature of the tests and the cheating variable. Anyone else think this is worth investigating? Apologies ahead of time if this has either been discussed previously or if it leads to nothing.

I never want to say any site is ARG-related... it could be "extended experience" or other promotional tie-in. At least it doesn't appear to be a fan-made site, although it is not hosted on ABC-owned servers. The domain is registered to a LeeLeeFilms company, not one we've seen before in ARGs, but certainly quite professional and legitimate.

Hidden at the bottom of that page...

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Copyright ABC, INC

...and the Terms of Use places them in Manhattan, New York, New York.

We simply don't know yet, but it's possible.

It's not really hidden, and it's not really a secret, and it's not a puzzle solve, so I unspoilered it. This is probably sanctioned by ABC, but not run by ABC.

If you wanted to be extremely skeptical about it, any fan can put the copyright text on their own site; any fan could have grabbed the Ajira logo from the trailer on the ABC website and created their own site. I don't think that's what has happened here, but it's good to be clear about what constitutes evidence. Text on a website isn't proof. If an official ABC website were to link directly to this new Ajira website, then that would be proof of affiliation, but still doesn't say who built the content.

That is not "another website" -- it is a parked domain name, with a generic links page thrown up by the hosting company. It's trash.

p.s. don't wrap the "url" tags around a URL, this forum's software will make it linkable for you; if you must use the tags, look at the example format displayed when you hover over the button on the submission form.

p.p.s. just register as a member here, it's free, and then you can go back and edit your own posts.

p.p.p.s. there is no need to triple post the same info in 3 different threads. If it is a good bit of info, people will find it and bump it to the top of the forum naturally.
