I'm thinking that this puzzle trail is based off The Holder's, but isn't linked. The Holder's has been around as an internet underground sort of thing for years.

Also, we need to consider getting some chats and off-forum things going. That way, we can track who's there and know if we've got a PM breaking the rules by playing their own game. I have theories, just nothing I'm ready to share without a little more evidence.

PM please stop referring to this forum. It would defeat the purpose of playing in that this is a forum for games that people play like they aren't. You may want to have a peak at the rules before continuing, because we are all enjoying the play so far, but we can't play if you encroach on our territory. It's almost like tracking you down online, which I've seen a player who didn't know the rules do. It ruins it for everyone. It's ok to take time to think of ways to get us to discuss things we post here, but outright having your main character tell us he reads the forums is like is like having Kermit's muppeteer stand in for the frog... it loses believeability. Also because death is on the menu to some extent, if you aren't playing by the rules how can we trust ourselves to seek out your real-life clues.

Long story short, please play by the rules.

UPDATE:

Just got an IM from Imori as the PM real quick. He apologies for breaking the rules. I told him it's not his fault. We can continue as planned.

PM: Thanks for clearing that up. Let's keep this game rolling and assume the rules were never broken and forget the things involving them. You're doing well, just keep it up!

I agree, we need to set up a chat or something off-site, a little more brain-storming.

I've been working on reading thru theholder.org with some ideas, but nothing worth sharing as of yet. I'll let you know if I come up with something there. There is too much between this and theholder to be just coincidence.
