[Viral? Trailhead?] Bookerville

Catherwood, while browsing another unrelated forum, found a very odd website with a weird might-be-argish feel to it. Check it out and let me knwo what y'all think.

Peeked in the source. Couple of items of note.
Code:
<!-- Bookervile[sic] doesn't exist !-->

and

Code:
<!-- Population Zero Copy-right[sic] 2008 A_twisted_Production !--

A couple of the towns they mention, Oxford and Hamilton, are just down the road from me! Guesse I got no choice but to say I'm in.

Interesting. Scary. Awesome. I'm watching.

EDIT: Also, is "Population Zero" Twisted Productions name for their ARG? If that's the case, maybe we should change the thread name to that?

flectere si nequeo supero, Achaeronta movebo

Latin, apparently.

"If I cannot raise Heaven, I will raise Hell."

10/12/08

Launch date?

Not to nit pick, but I'm not overly impressed with the production levels. Spell check is your friend, as is the proper use of capitalization.

Edit: "ARG" is one of the keywords on the first page. I'd say that makes this an ARG Wink

The source also mentions "Project Sapphire", which can be referenced here . That may be a coincidence, and they're reusing the code name

It also is reminiscent of Michael Chriton's "The Andromeda Strain."
I read that in high school many moons ago...and I love post apocalyptic anything...so I'm in.

The other keywords:

<META NAME="keywords" CONTENT="PROJECT, SAPPHIRE, C.T.D, Griggs, Automotives, ARG, Games>

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
If I cannot move heaven I will raise hell

That is what the latin in the breed's message said.

Also on the first page if you sheck the info you get text2.swf

Change it to text1.swf you get human no more and a link to Ironsun.html and that gives you a 404 error. LAME!

Here is information on the real-life Project Sapphire. It may not be applicable IG, but worth mentioning:

http://www.specialoperations.com/History/Cold_War/Sapphire.htm

Overall, the gist is that someone found a bunch of 90% uranium in the Soviet and had it transported to American soil before it could be used by terrorists. It had sat in the Soviet for years because they had forgot it was even there.

EDIT: Nevermind, didn't see the comma in between Project and Sapphire. *smacks forehead* Doh!

Any time I see a filename that has "2", "3", etc. at the end, I have to look for a "1".
http://sec-reg.com/text1.swf
So we might be able to add "Human no more" and "Iron sun" to the mix.

The "ironsun.html" page may have been a reference to a theory that the sun is not just a big ball of hydrogen.

Uncle Louie beat me to it.

Google's cache is different, as well.

Or... It may all be totally irrelevant.

PM. You might want to lock down some of your folders (Unless the puppy with the cataracts is part of the game).
