Game madmad59 suggestion

New game suggested by madmad59 who played it last year and was one of the winners of prizes. The new game this year has prizes and starts Thanksgiving day 2008. I haven't decided if I will stick with it; but wanted it try it for the first day and see what it is all about.

The game is about USA history, and today's first clue and puzzle is about Iowa.

It is much more fun to go through all the questions yourself as there is much to learn about the state of Iowa. But for those who may not have time this week, here is the solve to the 1st part of the puzzle. There is a 2nd part (crossword) to complete yet.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
1. Sioux City

2. Clear Lake

3. Fort Atkinson

4. Clarksville

5. Dyersville

6. Maquoketa

7. Iowa City

8. Des Moines

9. Pella

10. Eldon

11. Atlantic

Any help would be appreciated. Anagrams aren't my strong point. I'm stuck at the very end. Not even sure if I have the right 4 words. Pleeeeeeeeeeeeease help. Thanks! Smile

If I had to guess about Wyoming, I think it might have something to do with national parks, Yellowstone probably. Teddy Roosevelt started the national parks system.

I'm not playing this one yet. This is just a suggestion, don't know if the answer is correct. I may try to look at this later, if I do, I'll spoiler answers if I find out I'm right. Smile

Red Hatty, check what you have as the final clue for Wyoming. Your last two words aren't right. Smile

Ok, glad you figured it out! I couldn't get #12 either! Haha.

I am still plugging along and trying to figure out the Coast Guard one and Wyoming. In the mean time I've worked out the ones in between.
