Guiding the guide?

This section of the unforums is of paramount interest to me for various reasons. And I think the same goes for other people as well. However, there isn't very much action happening here. I think that this is for several reasons:

1. There are not that many Puppetmasters around.

2. Those who are, keep quiet. Fear of being "outed" could be a reason, as well as the fear of giving away your precious methods for free. This is especially true if you are running a company that does this kind of stuff.

3. The structure of the forum. The topics are interesting enough, but it feels a bit normative to write a "guide". I'd rather have discussion on what could be desireble rather than tell people how to do it (which is more helpful for newbe players). Also, all the topics are very widely defined, making it hard to reply accurately.

Perhaps a restructuring of the interesting content into several, more focused threads combined with dropping the normative approach would spark a discussion on "how could you make an ARG"?

Another suggestion (which I'm not quite sure about) would be to restrict this sections to people who actually have produced an ARG. Verification would be a nightmare and the gains perhaps not so great.

What do you think?
