[SPEC]Nmap

You know how in the matrix reloaded Trinity hacks the power plant control systems (runnin SSH version 1) to prevent the failsafe from kicking in?

I was just thinking the same app (Nmap) may be of some use in this game?

(not that I advocate running a backdoor on anyones server..)

No. Bad, bad, bad. Several people have already done this, and there doesn't appear to be anything that is really exploitable. Also, at least one individual who did it was later banned from the servers. The two messages we have receved now warn against hacking. It will do nothing but slow down the servers and cost them more in bandwith.

There is no real distinction between probing for filenames and extensions and attempting to connect to different ports on a server. I don't think anything should be off limits. There has to be a precedent for this?
