It didn't stand out to me the same way it did to you Leyton. I've seen quite a few instances of people using gmail for specific purposes; I figure they just wanted to reach those who played DWY rather than the entire LOST audience.

I hear the wall between Alternate Reality and Our Reality crashing down. This was the most unspeakable event in Lost Experience I ever heard of, not because it was disappointing, but because it felt like it was actually happening. The leaked email followed by the "security upgrade", and the financial crisis that's halting the project, and then the selling of the project to LOST (WTF?).
I have no idea what is real and what's fake now.

Yeah the lines have been crossed and the rules broken in terms of conventional ARG boundaries... if this is actually ABC pulling the pin on the ARG because of economic trouble (I started to suspect this when they said that they were going to make us wait so long for the dossiers) then....

EPIC FAIL!!!

and I'll think twice before ever entering a Lost ARG again. Sad

Making a ARG couldn't cost THAT much.

Making a grassroots ARG when all you need is a livejournal page, a Facebook account, a YouTube channel and several anonymous email accounts? Yes, that's cheap.

Paying someone to make Flash animations, even ones as buggy and stilted as the ones Hoodlum created? That starts to cost cash. Say what you like, but I'm sure LOTS of money was thrown at this, and little ROI was generated. In the current climate, that means it's time to throw this in the can.

Sad but true.

Such a shame. I think that even if this ARG continues under the banner of Damon and Carlton interacting with the players, I won't keep playing. The alternate reality isn't really an alternate reality, because the idea of the LOST tv show and a real dharma initiative in the same reality cancel's itself out. From day 1 when the ARG was started through the LOST comicon panel and hans van eugen said that dharma was sponsoring LOST I didnt like the idea.
Consider: if both exist in the same reality, then what, are we expected to believe that the Dharma Initiative from the show is a fictitious theme/issue/presence based on the real thing? Or something totally different? It would certainly mean that the 'real life' dharma initiative, as such, would have absolutely nothing to do with the dharma initiative from the show, with none of the history we have learned from LOST! Its ridiculous! Oh and then I guess the man in the video shown to ruckusguy just HAPPENS to look a hell of a lot like the actor who plays Dr. Marvin Candle on the show which the Dharma initiative sponsor? It just doesnt make sense!!

For those of you who participated in the cloverfield arg... would it have been even half as good (and it wasnt exactly the best ARG/ARE ever regardless) if in the Jamie Lascano videos she had a copy of the cloverfield teaser poster in the background on her bedroom wall? Or Rob hawkins pausing in the middle of the movie to say "aww man, you know, it's the darndest thing, I saw a movie just like this in January where a guy just like me, with my name and my friends were chased by a big monster just like that, on this exact date. I think it was called cloverfield. Pity the guy who looked and acted like me died in the end. Oh well. Funny, huh."

???????????

Because when you break it down, that is the same kind of alternate reality double cancellation rule breaking douche bag puppet master crap that's going on here.

</ramble>

I really have to stop writing a novel. All my other writing becomes absolute crap Razz

Sorry for x-posting, if you read another Lost-Forums:

Black Swan Account 1:

Proof Reader.

Grade Point Average: 47
Dharma Points: 1660
Recommended Department: Communication Division

Black Swan Account 2:

Brick Layer

Grade Point Average: 19
Dharma Points: 0
Recommended Department: Infrastructure Program

PS. The positions remind me on Freemasonry. Perhaps it is just symbolic positions (e.g. Brick Layer doesn't have to lay bricks, but it's just the fundamental position after initiation)

P.P.S. I don't really sure, the game is over. I have a weird feeling, account by Hans' were hacked by the "real" Black Swan (and Hans' coming out as Black Swan was just a rescue action against the hacker). Because this email style isn't style of Hans', it's sarcastic and full of selfcritisizm (Hans' was just another type of leader, hehe, he was authoritarian and serious.).
Anyway, perhaps I'm just too optimistic about this ARG, but I don't give up right now. I'll check in my 4th season LOST Box that easter egg where Lindelof speaks about the force of the island. Perhaps there is a clue? Look the last words of Hans:

Quote:
In the meantime may the spirit of the island guide you.

There is precedence, though: TLE1, way back, played the thin line between the realities by having Rachel Blake show up at Comicon and scream about how LOST was surpressing the truth about Hanso and the Dharma Initiative. Damon and Carlton also talked about a lawsuit between the producers and the so-called Hanso Foundation. It can be done, these guys just dropped the ball.

Guess I'm helping Sawyer and Kate build the alien runway?

***Anyone notice the random grooves put into the sections of Dharma's octagon on the first page of the dossier. Its on the background Octagon and also on the smaller logo. No two sides have the same style groove either in location, number, or groove size.***

I was a white Swan who didn't cheat and got a GPA of 71.
I'm a Psychologist, recommended for the Human Interaction Analysis Program.

The least said about the final email the better, though. Worst ARG ending ever? Embarassed

well, I'm a brick layer black swan (of course) I sure hope this isn't the end of the game. It sounded so odd for a letter from Hans. I don't know what to believe anymore.
