White Swan, GPA 59, no cheetin'. I'm a psychologist! I guess I get to watch people sit in the Pearl station and watch other people.

Yeah, that was not peeking out from around the curtain, that was setting fire to the curtain and throwing the ashes out the window. Unless there's something else going on.

Such a shame. I think that even if this ARG continues under the banner of Damon and Carlton interacting with the players, I won't keep playing. The alternate reality isn't really an alternate reality, because the idea of the LOST tv show and a real dharma initiative in the same reality cancel's itself out. From day 1 when the ARG was started through the LOST comicon panel and hans van eugen said that dharma was sponsoring LOST I didnt like the idea.
Consider: if both exist in the same reality, then what, are we expected to believe that the Dharma Initiative from the show is a fictitious theme/issue/presence based on the real thing? Or something totally different? It would certainly mean that the 'real life' dharma initiative, as such, would have absolutely nothing to do with the dharma initiative from the show, with none of the history we have learned from LOST! Its ridiculous! Oh and then I guess the man in the video shown to ruckusguy just HAPPENS to look a hell of a lot like the actor who plays Dr. Marvin Candle on the show which the Dharma initiative sponsor? It just doesnt make sense!!

For those of you who participated in the cloverfield arg... would it have been even half as good (and it wasnt exactly the best ARG/ARE ever regardless) if in the Jamie Lascano videos she had a copy of the cloverfield teaser poster in the background on her bedroom wall? Or Rob hawkins pausing in the middle of the movie to say "aww man, you know, it's the darndest thing, I saw a movie just like this in January where a guy just like me, with my name and my friends were chased by a big monster just like that, on this exact date. I think it was called cloverfield. Pity the guy who looked and acted like me died in the end. Oh well. Funny, huh."

???????????

Because when you break it down, that is the same kind of alternate reality double cancellation rule breaking douche bag puppet master crap that's going on here.

</ramble>

I really have to stop writing a novel. All my other writing becomes absolute crap

There is precedence, though: TLE1, way back, played the thin line between the realities by having Rachel Blake show up at Comicon and scream about how LOST was surpressing the truth about Hanso and the Dharma Initiative. Damon and Carlton also talked about a lawsuit between the producers and the so-called Hanso Foundation. It can be done, these guys just dropped the ball.

Oh ok I didnt play much of a role in TLE1 so I wasn't aware. Still, I don't know about you, but that kind of thing kills my interest like a major turn-off.

well, I'm a brick layer black swan (of course) I sure hope this isn't the end of the game. It sounded so odd for a letter from Hans. I don't know what to believe anymore.

Me neither... its hard to tell whats the arg and what is ABC trying to tell us that they've run out of money for this project.

Fuck I want to know what that thing is. That is like my third most biting question from the whole series.

I'm a proofreader by the way. Hooray. Just what I've wanted to do my entire life. At least I'll get access to all Dharma's juicy secrets! Probably not Sad

Well, I have Flash 10 and am not all that interested in downgrading in order to use this crummy website - I struggled with the damn thing for a month and a half and Hoodlum didn't help an iota. It worked earlier but they've changed something and it works no longer. I get a notice telling me that I can't have the latest flash in order to use their site.

HOODLUM, YOU FAIL. DO YOU EVEN REALIZE JUST HOW MUCH YOU FAIL? DOES ABC REALIZE HOW MUCH YOU FAIL?

well, to be fair, if entire sites are built with Flash, then the latest upgrade essentially kills compatibility, the blame should at least be heftily aimed at Flash... people can pour millions into a flash site, only to find that users upgrading will effectively block their site. shouldn't be the site's fault... heck, even MS is building IE8's new engine with the ability to force the IE7 rendering engine for compatibility. =)

anyway, even so, I dunno - try different versions of the various browsers. It still worked, for me, in Firefox 3, with Flash 10...

They also request that us Linux users don't try their site. Still trying to figure out how OS affects Flash.

So it didn't work for me for a month and a half, solved by installing Firefox for Windows through Wine, and the Windows version of Flash. Worked like a charm, as did a Wine installation of Chrome.

Now I'm getting the "Requirements to use site" text with my windows installs that is a step down from from the Gradient of Destruction I'm still getting on Firefox. But I just don't know if going through hoops to work the site is worth downloading my dossier.

Shaggy, if you need some help and would like your dossier, I have had people PM me their ID and password with their email and then I just email back their dossier. I can get on the site fine and it's alot easier than fighting with the DWY page.

If the technology is so unpredictable, and there do end up being inherent problems with Flash and compatibility, it was Hoodlum's job to use something else. "Oh, this could be broken for half of our viewing audience... Let's use it anyway!" Kinda irresponsible, in my book.

I couldn't get it to work at all on my work machine, either in IE or FF. My laptop works fine.

Inherent? no. IF the change in 10 was so significant that any existing flash compiled and used in sites would break if a client upgrades their player, especially without warning - definitely their problem.

Not if it's always been safe (for anyone, not just Hoodlum) to use it

How could they, or anyone, possibly know?

That sounds quite unpredictable, since it seems there've been reports of it working and not working for pretty much any os and browser version. And not typical of flash. IMO, more blame with Flash than Hoodlum on the 'brokenness', if it is indeed due to the recent update being rolled out for Flash 10.

What if this is all part of the Game?

Hey fellow Lost players,

Has anyone considered that the whole "financial crisis" spiel which supposedly ends the game is actually "part" of the game?

Maybe all of us new recruits are being tested to see if we have the resilience to survive the elimination round?

....hmmm....

Food for thought!

I posted this already.
In the source code, I found this:

Quote:
<DSAqandaatgmaildotcom>

I sent an email to them, and I got this:

Quote:
Dharma Special Access with Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse.

Got a question for the creators of LOST? Submit your question along
with your name and hometown, and if selected, Damon and Carlton will
answer it in a DSA announcement… that is, if you haven't been a bad
Black Swan.

Due to the fact that the show itself became a part of the Lost Experience Universe, there might be a slight chance that the ARG continues. Either way, I sent a message to them asking if the game's over.

Great find.

I guess the game is not yet over?

I'd say so! I went to sign up for the mailing list with the same address I used for the dharma initiative, and it said I was already on the mailing list.
