A few questions on great PM'ing
Hmm, I wonder...

Hi! A few friends and I have been tossing around ideas for our own ARG, but I have a few questions. I'll try to use this thread to ask questions as I go to the ones I can't find answers to.

- Does a PM ever sign his/her work? Or ever step out from behind the curtain to take a bow?

- Do PM's use there official handle to discuss PM points of business or post as a guest? If they log in, how do they keep players from poking around and ruining things?

I have a few more points that aren't coming to mind. I'll post them later.

Thanks for your time everyone!! Smile

Generally, after the game is finished, there will be a post-game PM chat. That's usually your chance to take a metaphorical bow, and answer any lingering questions players may have.

Generally, issues tend not to be worked out here, since it's OOG. The subtle art of communication with players and pushing them in the "right" direction is usually the best way. There aren't usually any issues major enough to log in here and directly address players.

Another option is to start up a PM blog (anonymous or not) that you can post updates to. That way, for example, if there is a delay in content you can explain why.
