It's just a joke buddy. Of course not everyone is going to be taught the same learning criteria.

Not sure if this is just coincidence, and my last image mapping didn't exactly work out so well, but I thought I'd post this up:

Looking at the graphs on 27, the big ticks on the X-axis in the bottom graph line up perfectly with the 5 horizontal separators on the top chart...

I hear that's the lowest form of wit. Then again puns are the lowest form of comedy (but vulgarity is beginning to achieve that feat), so there you go.

About the graph...."simple and direct" indeed. Laughing

Right - I've started a new thread for discussions arising from the newly released Informational Booklet.

I figure 72 pages is a good run for this Trailhead thread. Wink

Here is the new thread.

I'm so stupid, lol

OMFG, LOL!

Just want to share with all of you the story of my day!

1) I checked my e-mail a thousand times.
2) Awwww yeah! This mysterious thread starting with "Unsend your last email immediately, the proof it links to was not cleared for release."
3) I decide to turn off unfiction.com (to prevent spoilers) and I proceed to search Flickr endlessly for the account that Walter posted. I'm hand-typing things like flickr.com/photos/blackstar, /terrynanny, etc. I'm coming up with nothing.
4) Several hours later, I find the FIRST email (complete with link) in my SPAM BOX!!

ARRRGGGGHHHHH!!!!

So this is not really related to the info packet, but I was just wondering more about the 'family tree' fennel imagery.
I don't know if anyone else noticed (I couldn't quite make it through all 72 pages here) but the fennel drawing looks like a human heart. Looking for a connection between the two I discovered that a type of giant fennel called silphium was used by the Greeks as a type of birth control and the seeds were heart-shaped. I don't know if there is any possible connection in this between fennel, birth control and hearts but maybe...

I'm pretty sure that ACT 10 is 2008 considering the book was published yesterday or in the recent past and it is currently 2008...wouldn't that make sense?

the way into the doleful city

this is from dante's inferno I believe...
I am the Way into the Doleful City
I AM THE WAY INTO THE DOLEFUL CITY,
I AM THE WAY INTO ETERNAL GRIEF,
I AM THE WAY TO A FORSAKEN RACE.

JUSTICE IT WAS THAT MOVED MY GREAT CREATOR;
DIVINE OMNIPOTENCE CREATED ME,
AND HIGHEST WISDOM JOINED WITH PRIMAL LOVE.

BEFORE ME NOTHING BUT ETERNAL THINGS
WERE MADE, AND I SHALL LAST ETERNALLY.
ABANDON EVERY HOPE, ALL YOU WHO ENTER.

Alighieri, Dante. The Divine Comedy Volume 1: Inferno. Page 89, Lines 1-9, Canto III, Penguin Classics, Indiana University, 2003

infer...no? I don't know maybe I'm reaching here

I'd still like to know who this guy is, or why the artist starts to draw an eye right there...

I don't think it's a reach. I knew I recognized the term 'doleful city' from somewhere. That's written on the sign that Dante and Virgil see before they enter Hell

Also, found this on the PB wiki:In Greek mythology, Prometheus used the stalk of a fennel plant to steal fire from the gods
http://thisismymilwaukee.pbwiki.com/Fennel

And in the info packet it mentions on page eight that the technology of turbines was stolen by man, though it doesn't say who. Possibly the dinosaurs?
