Train and subway ≠ same thing in NYC, so it depends entirely on whether these stars were found on the train or the subway. And whether the mention in the vid is specific to the train or the subway... Streetcar shuffle might have something to do with it, but does this just mean we should be paying more attention to that? Stickers aren't much of a clue, after all, except to point us in a direction..

 		I'm going to put in some pictures below because I've got thoughts going on in my head comparing the bulb we see the Worker plant and the pictures the kids colour on and the way I used to draw trees:

I still see that "second part" of the family tree template for the kids' drawings as leaves rather than a fragment, but there are all the pieces for you to compare.

I am also wondering whether the bulbs, when planted, somehow connect up to the buried Go.D.S.E.E.D. When you look at the picture of the tomb, it almost looks as if there are things coming off of it reaching up to the surface:


(Incidentally, does one of the light-coloured blobs there look like a joystick to anyone else?)

What if those things are reaching up to connect with the "family trees"? Reaching up to connect with all these:


That could also connect with the idea that others are expressing that a family tree should look larger than that small bulb.

That's the kind of linear thinking that caused them to come up with a new dating system in the first place. Everything lines up much more nicely if we assume that DOR 9-0 and ACT 0-9 are simultaneous.

Snake Charmers? Peculiar... anyone have any clues on this one? I think the 'I let them live' hints perhaps at this whole idea of Jagoda being The Creep, though..

Also, what's this about them trying to take his peaches? Are these rebels like...hobos or something? Are there different factions that he had to specify which ones..?

It was the subway.
Maybe it's nothing, but those cars are so ripe with graffiti and numbers that there could be clues all over.

Don't know whether it significant or not, but in my many searches on chthonic energy, I've came up with some things about a "Water Serpent".

Connection? Maybe?

Edit: Well, I'm not coming up with the water serpent anymore, but serpent nonetheless:

I'm not sure, I think we might be reading too much into the name of the rebels. Most times - gangs simply pick a name that sounds cool - and that may be all this is. But there's a good chance I could be wrong too.

However, I think keeping the cthonic idea in mind is a good idea. As well as looking a little more into Voltaire. From what I recall - he was more of a French political activist. Demanding a government that was ruled by logic and understanding. One ruled by a single person, not a democracy - essentially a "enlightened monarch or an enlightened absolutist". I'm thinking that Blackstar is possibly trying to mimic that type of control/government since they appear at times to be more involved with the running of Milwaukee than the government itself.

Another side thought - the way Mike Russo has made comments like "there's still people in X?" and "watch the desert coming here" - we don't even know if in their particular timeline there IS an established government.

Just random thoughts...

Hello, this is my first ARG (thanks for getting me sucked into this Skyte!) and I've been lurking for days so I figured it was time to contribute. I apologize if I'm rehashing old news, committing a faux pas etc but this is new to me to go easy on me.

Our (my husband and I) working theories:
Blackstar created Go.D.S.E.E.D as an alternative energy source (to oil), it got out of control, the world is pretty much a wasteland with the exception of a few small areas trying to rebuild/repopulate. Blackstar says they are trying to help but have been corrupted/infected/controlled by Go.D.S.E.E.D, and wishing to remain the sole authority, they're instituting a rather rigid government full of lies and behind the scenes scheming. A small resistance force (Febrizzio's being it's home base) is fighting back to unearth the truth and take some of the control out of BS hands. Jagoda is a spy/double agent for BS which accounts for his always having the DD for food/gambling etc. GS fragments are some sort of parasitic offshoot of GS (perhaps GS is a hive mind or colony like jellyfish?) that paralyzes a victim before infecting them or attaching to the spine/brain stem to control them for the GS. Family Trees are devices buried underground near your home that connect remotely to all the other FT's to create an electromagnetic field that prevents GS fragments from surfacing there.

Go.D.S.E.E.D is:
1. Human/animal hybrid (genetically engineered to create super humans).
2. Human/plant hybrid (genetically engineered to create super humans).
3. Human/alien hybrid (genetically engineered to create super humans).
4. Human/machine hybrid (genetically engineered to create super humans).
5. Genetically engineered plants (flaxseed?), altered to produce more oil faster which became sentient and fought back.
6. Genetically engineered animals/aliens, altered to act as a free source of labor, which refused to be enslaved and fought back.
7. Machines that have attained AI and sentience.
8. Interdimensional being brought through a rip/portal in our reality while we were trying to draw energy from the other dimension/reality.

We're unclear on the specifics, though we are leaning towards theory 4, 7 and 8. We tend to agree that radiation, magnetism and mind control are involved.

Things we noticed:
1. A reoccurring theme of Italian, French, Chinese and Latin. The foods, flags, spoken and written language, names in the credits etc.

2. As others noted, a reoccurring theme involving many elements from H. P. Lovecraft's Cthulhu Mythos, popular fiction, video games etc.

3. The constant use of outdated technology indicating a lack of technological growth in the past 20+ years or a shortage of electrical and battery power ie. the initial video is on VHS, the boom box, no one is seen using laptops, handheld games etc. Instead they play chess, basketball and live music.

4. Technological contradictions: Laptop used in teens section, cars/trains/planes in a post-apocalyptic world (where do they get the gas?), a cell phone, etc. They also have access to the internet, which means they have access to accurate historical data including modern calendars yet they seem to ignore this information or pretend it doesn't exist within the IG world. How are they manufacturing things like hamburger buns and alcohol?

5. The robot/spaceman toy in the video actually looks more like a protective suit. What sort of protection? Bacterial, radiation, heat? I'm leaning towards radiation.

6. Constantly mentioning the arts. Art museum. Plant your family tree in the arts. In the music list Star W ars. Ars is Latin for art. In the credits the boutique that provides Terry Nanny's clothes is Febrizio's Homme which is Italian and French for: Artisan Man. Possible reference to the dark arts aka black magic?

7. The streetcar shuffle looks almost identical to the way the guy in glasses holds his arms during the "Power" shot. Is this reminding people to protect they're vital organs in an attack (head, neck, heart)?

8. The GS fragments seem to be hurt by either light or sound. Flare guns are made using Phosphorus which is Greek for Light Bearer which is Latin for Lucifer. Maybe it takes a devil to kill a god?

9. The three business women appear to be infected/controlled. They're mimicking human behavior and are so predictable they're being used as a mode of transportation. They're listed in the credits as Alpha, Beta and Gamma, three types of radiation and the first three letters of the Greek alphabet.

10. In the credits the waiter at Febrizzio's is listed as Jardin Watt-Turing. Jardin is French for garden and Watt-Turing becomes watering. Garden watering. A Watt is also a unit of power and (Alan) Turing according to my husband the chemist and Wikipedia was: an English mathematician, logician and cryptographer. Turing is often considered to be the father of modern computer science. He worked with computerized artificial intelligence. Chess could be another reference to GS being a cyborg or machine since Chess is a standard testing ground for AI.

11. A reoccurring theme of red and blue light ie the wavy red and blue/violet lines around the Family Tree in the child's drawing, the red and blue lights in the club scene, the red and blue lights around Cool Dog in the credits, the red and blue profile pictures for Mars Madison and Lipps Laroux. This led us to speculate that either the red and blue light spectrums help/hurt Go.D.S.E.E.D/fragments OR there is something in the video that can only be seen using 3D glasses. We managed to find a pair and rewatched the video but nothing jumped out at us except a few minor things which probably mean nothing: Jagoda's drink at Febrizzios and some odd dots on the Asian woman's blouse. I ended up with a nice headache/motion sickness but give it a shot yourself if you have a set of 3D glasses.

12. In the club scene they repeatedly show lemons. Then the guy is trying to dig something green (a lime wedge?) out of his drink. Is the green wedge the green bit being held/captured by the Family Tree? Is it a Go.D.S.E.E.D fragment? After he drinks from the infected cup he acts robotic/altered.

Sign analysis:


The waves bouncing off the structure/door could also be sound waves/light/radiation indicating that the building is capable of emitting sound/light/radiation waves to hurt to GS fragments OR capable of sending/receiving communications from other structures/Darkstar.

No major revelations I'm afraid but perhaps it will get the discussion rolling again. Thanks for having us in the game Smile

I think the funny thing here is in the top left panel, it shows that the kid has spray painted the C into an O, because I guess he's not at an area where that provides enough protection. And he's got that funny face.

Also, I do think that is a valid point... they have access to the internet/blackberries/email etc, but they still don't really know what's happened in the past? Something's missing here...

Here's something that just occurred to me regarding Voltaire. Not sure if anything will come of it but I thought it was an interesting parallel.

We call all agree that this world that TIMM is similar to many other futuristic societies in science fiction (literature, TV, and films alike). I'm not sure if it's been mentioned before, but it reminds me of Brave New World a little bit.

In Huxley's "Brave New World", the idol that society worships is Henry Ford (the year dated A.F. instead of A.D.). I once read that Huxley came up with this concept after reading a book that Ford wrote.

This is a lot like TIMM's idolization of Voltaire. I know that we don't know for sure if TIMM's Voltaire is supposed to be the famous philosopher or not, but it's still possible they do mean that Voltaire, so bear with me. Perhaps in this world, a copy of Voltaire's "Candide" (or one of his other works) was discovered, and became the basis for what to believe in an how to live; became THE religious text.

Interestingly enough, in the French version of "Brave New World" the title is "Le Meilleur des Mondes" (English translation is "The Best of All Worlds"), which is a phrase the character Dr. Pengloss said in Voltaire's "Candide".

I don't have anywhere else to go with this but I thought they were interesting coincidences.

 		Note about Cool Dog in case this turns out to be relevant later:

The dog in the video is not Cool Dog. He is credited as "Dog Dressed as Cool Dog".

I propose that Cool Dog is a Corgi with shutterglasses (as seen on the back of the booklet), and the dog in the video is an actor playing Cool Dog.

 		wow, i can't believe the amount of speculation tht this thing has created. All it took was a weird ten minute video on YouTube and a phone number to get people all crazy. We don't even know what the hell all of this is.....
