Anyone else noticed the 'flax seed' style graffiti in Half Life 2? They're so similar.

I am not sure whether to start a new thread for this as I am not sure it is actually related to TIMM or if it is for a different ARG (I am not involved in any others at the moment but that's not to say someone wouldn't try to bring me into a current ARG; more likely though it's either TIMM or something new).

A Twitter user named intimation has added a number of people from uF and then started sending mysterious tweets that sound ARG-ish. It seems the user just adds you to get your attention, then un-follows you, as the only users their profile shows them following are "Astro Pic of the Day" and "SETI@home."

The first set of tweets the user sent was line after line of T. S. Eliot's "The Hollow Men," but with multiple misspellings throughout the poem.

After that set of lines, the tweets became much more ARG-ish still:

Quote:
2882 85 281 655 281 51683 131s

632 7986 a 3256 338 a 4822359.

I opened my eyes, and before me were a group of machines, 31 in all. They were old, rusty; some even damaged and dented... hollow.

Around me walls were crumbling, trees withering, wind blowing dust of what once were towers and homes. These 31 sentinels slowly approached.

When they stopped, it was clear they carried scraps of metal. Pieces of another sentinel, perhaps? It was hard to tell.

Then they re-organized themselves, and 23 advanced leaving 8 behind. They each held their scrap in one of 9 different ways.

The mention of trees withering echoes the idea that nature withered around us when Go.D.S.E.E.D. was developed, and the description of scraps of metal being held in particular ways brings to mind Dark Dollar arrangements, which is what makes me wonder if this is TIMM related.

Anyway, here is a link to the uF thread discussing it: http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=27294

Nope, you're not too late, especially since TIMM seems to be on hiatus. There is a countdown on their website that ends January 16th so hopefully the ARG will pick back up at that point...

definitely not too late. you've got some reading to catch up on though! the monster here is the most important thread to read through. the other threads are much shorter and came after (mostly) the behemoth you see before you. read this one from the beginning and you will be mostly up to speed. Wink

and btw, don't forget that we still have the clue pointing to tonight at midnight, though we're not sure what, if anything is supposed to happen. my wild guess is the Blackstar link on the MTC site goes active at that time. we shall see.

is anyone planning on hitting up the Great Lawn tonight to check out the Emerald Nuts Midnight Run?

ok reading this monster of a thread now that i caught up kinda on the wiki. one question though, in the promo film, the kids drawings, cowboy hat, and a homemade aluminum man are thrown out, then they focus on the toy again... why are they showing the childrens drawings and hat from the museum being thrown out and what is important about the toy? they showed us this for some reason right?

you would think there would be some sort of significance there wouldn't you? honestly, this has been the subject of speculation a coupla times previously and there are no hard and fast answers as yet. it could mean that children are the true victims in this whole scenario. there are no children in the entire video and children are a big focus of the target audience. Terry Nanny plays the boom box very deliberately, turns it off and kneels down to be on a more comfortable level with the young ones. "hey kids, you're moving to Milwaukee!" later, he tells the parents that the "kids seem thrilled!" that part of the vid just creeps me out!

what is your take, Pilot? welcome to Milwaukee, btw!

Hey guys, Ive been following this game for a few days, I wish I found out about it sooner.

One thing that I noticed that I think has been overlooked.

@ 3:00 in the promo video, Terry is pulled on roller blades by the 3 women, then at 3:06, he lets go, and another man with a bag, also on roller blades, grabs on.

This might have been done to be silly or whatever, but it could also be there to show us what role women play in Milwaukee.

Thats all I can get out of it.

Thoughts?

Also, I think it amazing that something as elaborate and detailed as TIMM exists.

@EnsO~ I think that it's odd that they would throw those out, like they were made for display only. It seemed like they have nothing vested in the kids, maybe they are considered expendable as well? "here's our children's area!" No children, toys in corner, drawings that would make a child psyhc curl their toes... It gives me the heebie jeebies. Maybe those were drawn during the troubles and their aren't any children left.

Someone mentioned earlier in the thread that maybe their life is plant based and they were emulating us... what if all life was? What if something cataclysmic happened and in this reality we are all pod people now, and the "godseeds" that the Milwaukeeans speak of are the humans that are left? So we would all be pod people as well not knowing we were because we emulated being human to the point that we believe we are now? That would explain the family tree thing right?

why did the blob cross the road

A friend just pointed out something weird to me. In the video when they are talking about POWER (2:40-2:42)...what's that thing crossing the street? Is it a giant rat? a plastic bag in the wind? something intentionally put there?

i think this is a great theory, Pilot. very similar to my own thoughts on the scenario. i like your thinking that the Go.D.S.E.E.D. could be the remaining humans. makes sense and also gives this a very Planet of the Apes feel...

Buried somewhere in this forum, I asked the very same question. I forget who, but someone pointed out that it is just a bag blowing down the street.

This video sure makes you analyze every little thing doesn't it? Razz

just an fyi

the anime used in the "blackstar no blackstar" youtube vid is called Blueseed. I knew I had seen it somewhere... just couldn't place it.

and a quick question... do we know if the godseedsurvivor channel is a part of this or not? that's the one that has the "footage" of a spinning blue thing...

Well since they were willing to accept my crappy "Blackstar no Blackstar" video goof as a video reply, it's pretty safe to say they'd accept anyone as a reply as long as it was appropriate. The spinning godseed thing may or may not be made by the PMs, we may never know.
