I think this might be the final clue as to why everything fell apart. The knife that girl is holding looks like the forgotten weapon and the treasure hunter did hold up a crystal. Perhaps this was a viral marketing campaign for this game and then when the game didn't get developed they just stopped with the ARG

I think that's a very interesting perspective, but it doesn't seem to fit the timing of the original release schedule for the Crystal Wars game...The site stated that Crystal Wars was slated for a 2007 release...a year BEFORE the first TIMM video was even discovered. Seems odd that the game would be scheduled to release in '07 and then after not having completed the game, starting an ARG knowing the game was already behind schedule or already abandoned.

But that knife does look like the Forgotten weapon though!!!

Please excuse me for any excessive postings on here, but this is just too bizarre.

i somehow came across a pdf of the Instruction Manual for The Crystal Wars Game....

It was a complete fluke....

In the PDF instructions for Crystal Wars, there is a story enveloping the actual instructions for the game itself. In the INTRODUCTION and the EPILOGUE (respectively at the beginning and the end of the instructions), there are references to Rebels, the energy of crystals, crystals being buried in the sand, a certain "crooked" knife (like the FORGOTTEN WEAPON), crystal hunters, and references to a certain "employer' (BLACKSTAR????). The game is very buggy, and seems to run similar to the WOW engine; But The instructions are VERY elaborate and deep.

There are references in this pdf file that could easily point to both TIMM and Hoopeston. It seems obvious here that crystal wars is connected to TIMM, but Crystal Wars was started in 2006, and had a release date of 2007, at least a full year BEFORE TIMM really got rolling.

If someone can advise me where I should post the Crystal Wars PDF, I will do so. Should I start a new Thread or post it here?

Worst Case scenario, this can bring some closure to the entire thing, if in fact TIMM was a viral campaign for crystal wars.

THANKS.

Chuck Jagoda: plantin' family trees -- LIKE A BAWSS.

This is just something I found by clicking through to Chuck Jagoda's flickr from his comment on the Reasonable Haven flickr. Gotta be OOG, but I was amused.

Crystal Wars: (what does it have to do with TIMM???)

Has anyone noticed this or posted on this yet?

Long time reader, first time poster. I followed this from the beginning to pass time between my internship and classes and loved every minute of it. I share in everyone's sadness that it is now seemingly dead. I check every so often to see if anything has started back up.

The quote about FIBS makes me chuckle. I live in Milwaukee, and I hear, and use, "FIBs" a lot, especially in reference to driving or road rage. Many people feel drivers from Chicago are inferior and impolite drivers in comparison to WI motorists, and it stands for "F***ing Illinois B*****ds!". Are they just messing with us and posting random silly tidbits every so often to keep us guessing, or is it a complete coincidence? Who knows.

Also, Relia, I always thought you were a cutie, since you posted the picture of you and your trophy. Brains AND beauty. My kind of woman. Smile
(That's right, you were just e-hit on.)

Merry Christmas and take care fellow TIMM'ers! If youre ever in the area, stop by for a bite to eat at Febrezzio's with a true Milwaukee native!

looks like it. I have been in dialog with someone who was part of the crystal wars project, and he says it has nothing to do with TIMM.....

Oh well.....at least it was fun to think there might be something there, even if it was for a brief moment.

"It's not that simple. You know how trees lose their leaves in Winter? Well, those leaves regrow in the Spring, and I fear the seasons may be changing."

Here is wishful thinking that something may happen this Spring.
A full year is about to round about us on the last activity we saw on this.
After all, Chuck's last tweet was in March, month of the Vernal Equinox.

My guess is that the Crystal Wars stuff was an inspiration. I mean, what better to use than a game that isn't going to exist? Sadly, I don't believe that the mysteries of TiMM will ever be solved ...

Shocked

Wild speculation at this point, but just a what-if...

What if the sponsor shut down the game last march, and the PMs were under some sort of contract not to restart the game themselves or otherwise discuss it for one year? That would explain the dates (soon, dear, soon) and rather odd year of silence.
