There's nothing more beautiful than function! A friendly instructional to help citizens move is wonderful, but what if a whole world were crafted the same way ... precise, overwhelming, and playful? I think you're right. If you couple this with the Facebook reply, it seems to hint that the game might be moving from Milwaukee to...well, somewhere west. Possibly the coast.

Regardless, I just sent an email to the info@thisismymilwaukee account requesting relocation information for their coastal city after all "that unspeakable unpleasantness" of the past few years. We'll see if anything comes of it.

I miss TIMM. I want it to come back!

I asked Lipps "So, if you ever hypothetically decided to leave Milwaukee, where do you think you'd move to?

Maybe that's a little too direct, but hey it's worth a shot.

My interpretation: They can't exactly restart TIMM but they're doing something similar with a different city. Remember the FB comments from awhile back that hinted toward heading for the coast?

That could be pretty cool. I might still be slightly bitter about my first (and only) ARG ending with a whimper...and based on my home city, no less! I guess I'll have to load Unfiction back in my RSS reader. Very Happy

i've been lurking for years without making an account, i caught TIMM just as it was on its way out.

these new comments being posted, activity from lipps -- i think we might be missing something

two of these new posts mention the words 'good morning' which is a dark dollar arrangement, what have we learned exactly on them?

They can't possibly expect more than a handful of people to still be even paying attention, let alone having the interest and energy to follow through with any clue gathering and mystery solving. It breaks my heart to say it, but they really squandered their opportunity, and I don't see how they could regain the momentum they had before everything just sort of, you know, fell off.

I both agree and disagree. TIMM got pretty badly botched toward the end, and we'll never know why, though I expect it had to do with contracts and such. The PMs could have wrapped up the story with a couple of paragraphs of text at any time, so I strongly suspect that if they could, they would. So yes, TIMM was an opportunity squandered, but it may well not have been the PMs fault.

[While we're on that note, has anyone tried just emailing Bender or anyone we know is involved and just asking them straight up what happened? Worth a try anyway.]

However, I disagree that it's impossible to move forward. A new video of the quality of the original TIMM video would not just pick up all the remaining TIMM followers but also a new generation of ARG players too, and if anything would go viral even faster than before.

I sent Synydyne an email months ago, maybe close to a year now, asking what happened. There was never a response, so I figured they either didn't want to tell anyone, or they signed an NDA or something.

I was quite excited a few weeks ago by the prospect of something happening, but I agree with Starblind. There's nothing big enough or obvious enough to show us that they are indeed rebooting this thing. They need to do something to let us know they aren't screwing around before I say TIMM's back.

I don't think it was ever intended to be an ARG with a plan, a future, a purpose... I thin it was just an artistic project, and it caught on so they ran with it for a bit. I think expecting some big thing to happen because they're "starting up" again or something will be setting yourself up for disappointment. If it's just an ongoing artsy project for fun, then I'd fully expect to see occasional flittering with characters and whatnot. Doesn't mean they have anything planned, they're just continuing to play with the environment they set up.

It would be nice if they'd do something concrete and planned out, but personally, I don't think that's going to happen. IMO, just enjoy whatever happens, because TIMM really is just pure entertainment Laughing

I'm not so sure. If it was all just for fun, why not wrap up the story or at least do a placeholder or something suggesting it was on hold? The last ChuckDidEate twitter message really sounded like, at the time, they intended to continue and things were just turning a corner of sorts. I think they had a sponser who pulled out for whatever reason and they can't do anything for contract reasons, though that hopefully wouldn't preclude a new ARG with a similar style by the same PMs.

i think the fact that there is still quick response on this forum is a good sign.

"Keep waiting or move forward ... both shall result in a splendid arrival!"
-sounds to me like we're missing something

-kind of sounds to me that they either want us to make our own video in the vein of the trailhead video, or they're moving to a new location(perhaps they already have, and we need to be scouring the web for it).

either way, the recent postings have intrigued me again, and i'm introducing the trailhead video to as many people i can, in hopes a resurgence of interest brings about a new chapter in what was such an epic story.

You're absolutely right, coldcola. Don't forget this one though: "You'll find the way forward ... or maybe a new path westward ... ah! A coastal melody. Forms and paperwork, sealed with a handshake."

That almost certainly means:

"You'll find the way forward"
There will be more, or there already is but it hasn't been discovered...

"or maybe a new path westward ... ah! A coastal melody."
...the new content will involve some west-coast US city and probably not be set in Milewaukee...

"Forms and paperwork, sealed with a handshake."
...either they can't discuss TIMM due to an NDA, or some contract exists for a TIMM sequel.

So I don't think more content just wishful thinking at all, given how many hints we've had in that direction. Besides, Lipps' Facebook, Mars' Facebook, and the TIMM Facebook group STILL all each have over 200 people. There's definitely a lot of folks still interested even after 2 years with no real new content, and frankly the PMs would be stupid NOT to use that built-in interest base in some way.

I think that TIMM is going to go down as one of the great disappointments of my lifetime.

Was just watching the video to show some friends as something reminded me of it and there's a comment response from the owner of the channel only two hours old:

Someone said: Yeah this for sure cannot be Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The only thing recognizable was the airplane.

To which they got a reply: @BrunoEdwin The beach volleyball tournament is finally over.

So... maybe it really is coming back? Maybe they were preoccupied with a beach volleyball tournament the entire time?

That must have been one epic beach volleyball tournament. Humans vs. Godseed fragments, best 2501 games out of 5000 wins!
