That's awesome. It looks like the way to get Joey to open up is to sympathize with him since he hates his job.

Perhaps saying things like "man, there's no way you get paid enough to deal with this stuff all day... how are you holding up" would get him to spill more info?

Probably. Try it.

Canning District and Youth/Teens

Doing a little research on canning as it applies to youth brought me to the Keating Owen Child Labor Act of 1916. Millions of kids were forced to work in canneries (and mines, and factories, etc) and this Act banned sale of products created by child labor, although "nothing in this Act shall be construed to apply to bona fide boys' and girls' canning clubs"

Maybe they've got some child-labor sweatshops going on in the Canning District.

So, are the fragments attacking the children because of their youth or is it all a lie to bring more children in to work for their hamBURger and vermouth factories?

Haven't had any luck getting through to him again. I wonder if he'll be supsicious of the 16 year old who is magically now a parent of teens who wants to move to Milwaukee. Razz

to landtuna: I was really curious as to wtf that scurrying thing was. It didn't move like any animal I've ever seen.

At 2:40 in the original video, to the right of him running, there's a scurrying furball. It almost looks like a Tribble to me.

On a side note, I don't think it looks like the beast in the image.

During the clip in the video when he goes over random words (the hammer/work, the bonus..etc) he says POWER and the dude runs (if you can call it that ) toward the camera with his arms up. To his left on the road is something kind of sliding across the ground. At first glance I thought it was just a cat but it certainly doesn't move like one. Of course, they could have done something in editing that makes it look funky.

edit: beaten Razz

Anyone who gets a hold of Mike Russo should ask why the godseed fragments are interested in teens, not adults...I think that's pretty pertinent...

Hahaha

Wow. That's just a bag blowing in the wind. There's a piece of white paper blowing on the street too.

Truck grafitti?

There's graffiti on the truck at 0:05 on the 14251612181818198HD video.

Anyone able to tell what it says? Suppose it's something worth while?

I'm gonna guess that's just part of the NYC scenery.

Re: Bar on Bleecker
I like this "quartino" lead

The bar on Bleecker that the young professionals exit is QUARTINO (<a>as per street view + google</a>), but in the video all but the R, N, and O are deleted. Leaving... QUATI.

Interesting idea. See, I feel that everybody is concentrating on this NYPL lead and not enough on the *content* of the TIMM video.

If we did:
T=V
E=E
Q=R
U=M
I=O
L=U
A=T
(nothing)=H

The letters of QUARTINO missing in the TIMM video (R, N and O) are the only letters of the word not present in "TEQUILA".

Using simple letter substitution would give us QUATI=RMTVO.

Of course, no anagrams can be built out of this (not enough vowels)

The letters still there are "R" "N" and "O." this could mean "no 'R'," making vermouth 'vemouth' and a cipher that lines up correctly. Now we've got

T=V
E=E
Q=M
U=O
I=U
L=T
A=H

QUATI becomes MOHVU (MOHrVUno when we include the remaining letters), which is also pretty meaningless. maybe the 'streetcar shuffle' is an additional clue on how to solve this cipher.

Sign on kids cowboy hat

I wonder what that 'A' on the kids cowboy hat could be. It's similar to the hobo sign for 'look out the authorities here are on the watch' or the alchemical sign for water/purification upsidedown. But I'm sure that's a huge stretch.

So, is it an A or some kind of math/other symbol?
