I noticed the pbwiki entry for Godseed has been edited, and now includes:
Quote:
The Go.d.s.e.e.d. can also posess people, Mike Russo's statement was "They go phonic", possibly an Invasion of the Body Snatchers type possesion.

This could tie in greatly with the awkward "humans" in the TIMM ad video. Maybe Black Star created Godseed, but then Godseed ended up controlling/enslaving the Black Star corporation.

Now, it hires MTC to make a commercial to lure people back, spouting propaganda about how Godseed is buried and everything is safe.

Why does Godseed want people?
- If we follow the reproduction angle, perhaps it needs something that young, virile humans possess to reproduce.
- If we go by the idea of an alternate power source (I believe I read somewhere that Black Star was trying to find an alternate power source), then perhaps people are being lured to be used as batteries, like in The Matrix

Also, Mike Russo and Joey sound scared/mistrustful of Black Star. Perhaps they feel like something is up, but can't do anything because Black Star is essentially the government in Milwaukee.

Interesting, but the places that would end up being flooded are counter intuitive.

Coloring for fun and profit

Also downloadable at http://mymilwaukee.wikibruce.com/Image:Fennel.jpg.

It's not perfect, but it's late at night and all I had to work from were some blurry caps of YouTube vids. Wink I'll revise it once some better images are out there.

Now, print, color and share your work!

Unfortunately, that version doesn't have Milwaukee or Grand Rivers as good land.

Perhaps we're looking at it the wrong way. Maybe this map isn't telling us what is flooded, but what was overrun with Godseed Fragments.

So technically, the green bits could still be the affected areas, but since it's not a flood, it loosens restrictions (flooded areas unintuitive, non-green areas where water should be).

Red Herrings

Just a couple of Milwaukee specific items that probably have nothing to do with this and are just red herrings.

1) Red Star had a yeast factory here in MKE for over 120 years that just closed this summer.

2) That factory was housed in what is known as the valley, Pigsville, or the Tanning district.

3) There were definitely streetcars in the tanning district in the early days of Milwaukee. That's how many of the people who worked at the tanneries got to work.

The map transposing is all a crap shoot in my mind. Maybe the map means something but I was just toying with as to what.

HAHA! Awesome! I could have used that this morning!

And YIPPIE! I finally got the video edited and posted.

People outside of NYC, enjoy. The rest of you, I encourage you to make the trip yourself. Who knows, maybe the note will change!?

Re: The wiki debate... Now that I'm pretty much done keeping up my "outing" page ( http://thisismymilwaukee.pbwiki.com/Outing-to-NYPL ), I'm happy to keep working on adding to that Wiki or transfer my stuff over to Bruce's Wiki. I haven't tried the other Wiki yet, but if it has more features or supports more discussion/collaboration, I'm game. I gotta go to bed now, but I'll check it out tomorrow.

That's an intense video... Good job!

Even though I knew your library visit was straight forward, I kept expecting some guy to jump out at you with a family tree.

I'm curious why they glued the paper together. Was it just to make it thicker, so it'd be obvious there was something there when you opened the book?

I know it's the New York public library, and you were probably too involved, but did you see anyone suspicious or weird around? I doubt any one was there, but who knows?

Yeah, I was so worried about someone telling me to put my video camera away. The security guards were looking at me kind of funny, especially when I did the 360 turn around with the camera.

I wasn't on the lookout for anyone suspicious or weird. Now I kind of wish I had looked up to see if anyone was watching me take the book out.

But, on the other hand, I was there right when the library opened, and there were only maybe 30 or so people that entered the library before me.

Like FlamingSheep said, I was half expecting someone to chase me down or something (I was kind of inviting it by putting the drawing on my bag)... or, like someone else said, I was hoping that when I pulled the book out, there would be a family tree/fennel bulb on the shelf!

Right now I'm using my CSI-style "enhance" software to upscale the HQ version to 1024x768 for easier detail-spotting with minimal loss of detail. I'll upload it tomorrow.

Climate change

If there's a desert near Milwaukee, then climate change is definitely an issue. Unless the fragments have just destroyed the land like tiberium or something.

I was going for the darker areas being flooded and not vice-versa.
