Relevant, yes. Mentioned before. Yes. The trout you are about to receive: priceless.

If that was directed at me, I have and I'm not sure what would give you the impression I hadn't?

@Natas: I did say it had probably been mentioned as I was only on page 8. But please, feel free to point out between page 5 *Where it's actually indicated as "Sneet Sneet"* And this page; where it was actually mentioned it was saying "Teens. Teens." Because I just went through again and couldn't find it.

3) SNEET SNEET: I thought there might be something with this. It's just weird how the words freeze upside down like that and stay there for a little while. Probably doesn't matter, but the words rotate just like the teenager rotate when the giant thing descends.

This points out the similarities between the word rotating and the teenagers rotating yes, but I (obviously mistakingly) assumed you'd missed the link on "Teens" as it wasn't mentioned in that context.

In the video, it clearly says TEEN TEENS before the word rotate upside down to spell SNEET SNEET. Fast forward to 6:48 if you have to.

Leyton, let it go. No big deal. You just were stating the obvious. No foul.

TEENS TEENS
Obvious

He's talking about teens... we knew it was teens teens upside down but we were pondering if SNEET SNEET meant anything... it was always clearly the second possible meaning not the first.

Yeah, wow. Because I'm the first person in ARG history to make a miniscule mistake like that... Thanks for clearing it up even though Slusho, to someone hitting this ARG for the first time and only being on that page to make a reference it wasn't always clear.

My bad, yeesh! Confused

Natas: Thank you for the Brownies, they are appreciated. I'm starving!

If it hasn't been said before - I think it's fairly obvious we're looking at a promotional campaign for an RPG...

    1. As Makubex pointed out - there are RPG elements in the teens segment.
    2. Venturing out in groups less than or greater than 3 (a common RPG party size) seems incredibly odd to all in-game characters.
    3. Teenage party members fit the JRPG stereotype - and the discussion about "changing bodies" would seem to indicate at least some kind of magical power/transformation ability
    4. The sword/map/dungeon/treasure aspects are fairly big giveaways as well

What really frustrates me is that this whole godseed thing sounds really familiar - like I've heard it in some news release or trailer. Google seems to be proving me wrong, though.

In the special thanks section, they mention Tales of Games' Studios (http://www.talesofgames.com/games), which seems to make fun little shareware games like Barkley: Shut Up and Jam: Gaiden and a platformer starring Anne Frank(?!).

Also mentioned in the special thanks are Murderfist (a comedy troupe) and The Mountain Goats (a band). Any significance?

I notice that on the note, it looks like it was originally 414-668-8417, then an 8 is written over the the second 6, making it 414-688-8417.

Maybe try the alternate number tomorrow? It's late on the east coast now.

I tried it - number doesn't exist, I'm afraid.

I'm thinking this 668 thing is OOG, judging from the initial change on the thisismymilwauke.com contact info, and the scribbling out. it seems like tptb got the wrong phone number, and then made a mad dash back to NYPL to change the note. that'd also explain the delay in getting out info packets, etc.

could be wrong, but i think dialing 668 could be a waste of resources.

Maps & Weapon

I tried to post this yesterday but it would not let me.

Looking at the postcard, there are a few unusual features (which have been mentioned before, I know, stay with me)

We can see:
*A delineation in the clouds in the upper-left hand corner of the picture
*A strange angular sawtooth-like line in the water running very close to the left-most edge of the picture (just offshore) all the way past the "Loading..." text, and ending at what looks like the marina-area to the right edge of the picture

Let's assume for the moment that these lines represent a single polygon.

I have pieced together the emerald casket, map, and forgotten weapon into one giant photo (the earlier posted version by another poster does not contain the full details of the weapon)..

I can't help but feel like the weapon "fits in" to this polygon in some way. I have rotated and flipped, but I can't figure it out. Even just the handle itself (ignoring the blade) seems like it has very map-like features to it.

Anybody?[/list]

Yeah, that's what I was saying. Neither of the 668 numbers have existed when we've tried to dial them, it's just a mistake / misprint. The 688 numbers are the correct ones.
