I am personally beginning to think the map is a total dead end at this point in the game anyways. Seriously - what knowledge does the map provide us at this point, in its current state?

It's a 'treasure map' with out an X to mark the spot.

If it is a treasure map - it's going to be for Milwauke in all likelihood, and not the US. If those are Lat/long lines as I first suggested, then in order to scale the map with said lat/long lines, it would only represent a small portion of the US on account of the fact that such lines are simply not that far apart.

Also, considering it's a 'golden map' when referencing that no expense was spared in his burial - why would it show flooded or habitable areas of the US as a whole?

Either way though - it seems to be getting far more attention than it deserves with such limited information regarding it at this point.

Granted there are few other leads right now, but this isn't really a lead either.

I can only assume we'll have much more to work with once people start getting info packets.

Well I had a pretty boring conversation. I asked about the Voltaire quote and he got quite and just asked for my name and email. He made it pretty clear he hates his job. He did close with saying to call Russo (I asked about family trees). And the he said he was going to get drunk. I'm not sure what to ask him.

I've been lurking here since Friday along with the SA page, and this is pretty sweet to be a part of. The only other ARG I've taken part in was the Year Zero one, so this is all still pretty new to me.

Anyways, I've gotten a hold of Joey once, but nothing new came out of it, and I'm going to try calling Mike tonight after work. But if anyone gets a hold of Mike before then, here are some unanswered questions:

- What's the current conversion rate between Dark Dollars and US Dollars? (This will maybe let us know if the government is still around)
- Is it safer to go out at night or during the day?
- Is Black Star hiring in any specific fields of study currently? (Maybe we can determine if they're a Biotech/Mercenary/whatever company)

I can't wait until Monday for my Information Packet!

two random items

I just rewatched the original video. Two random things I noticed...

1) At the beginning of the teens section, TN is carrying a cassette deck boom box. This might go along with the earlier posts about plant life (or some other life form) learning from 70's/80's pop culture.
2) In the ending anime ("Thanks for finding me, I thought I was toast")...TN gives the ball back to the basketball player, but the basketball player's voice is that of the treasure hunter. Body snatching?

Sorry if either of these were covered earlier.

When I talked to Mike last Friday I asked about the $5000 Dark Dollar stipend (and they say $5000 in the video). He said "Well, actually it's $2000, but you will certainly be able to spend those outside of Milwaukee."

He seemed quick to assure me of that, as if it actually wasn't true. Maybe it suggests that Black Star isn't doing that well, or there are different local currencies from place to place.

Not a direct answer to you question, but a little more information anyway.

I'm also curious if one of the MTC folks could point out the location of the Art Museum since there's the voltaire reference about planting your family tree in the arts and then mention of the museum.

Here is the art museum marked on the postcard...you can pull it up on Google maps by name.

Well I suppose it could be in the same location but it's quite possible the recently renovated Jagoda Museum Center is somewhere else.

Just tried to get the MTC to ask but no one home at present.

Just got through to Joey at MTC, and asked about the economy and Dark Dollars. I also mentioned I had talked to Mike, and responded by saying, "oh, yeah...RUSSO!!"

He was trying to fix the toilet when I called.

Anyway, he said he feels like he never has enough Dark Dollars, and feels like he's always broke.

He said his toilet tank wasn't filling up. I asked if the water was on (it was), and then asked about his float. He asked where it should be, and I tried to explain it. He asked if I was a plumber.

I asked about the Dark Dollars you get for moving to Milwaukee (I said 3000 dark dollars, wondering if he would say 5000 or 2000, but he didn't correct me), and he said he can be in cash, credit, or vouchers. He said he personally gets his two bedroom apartment (in the Canning District, natch) paid for.

Still having toilet issues. His toilet at home always works, but the one here is pretty crappy (don't quit your day job, Joey Laughing ).

I tried to ask how much in dark dollars he needs per week to cover expenses, but he changed the subject to the whole "do we have your email" bit. I told him I gave it to Mike already, and told him I hope he gets the toilet working. He said he might have to give maintenance a call, but he wasn't sure if there was a maintenance department yet.

Joey seems really fucking pissed off.

I don't think he's acting either!

edit: he seems really irritated by the dark dollars conversion rate questions. have you guys been hounding him about it all day?

Here's a list of different things to ask should someone get through to either Mike or Joey, because I have several things I want to talk about but I've yet to get through even once. Also, this is to any of you people who can call but have nothing prepared to ask.

Questions

- "Hi, I'm calling to report a missing cowboy hat and a toy made of foil, I last saw them at the Jagoda Art Museum near the Activity Center, have you seen them?"

- "What are some uses for a Family Tree? What would you do with one? Why do they need to be "UNDER"?"

- "Is there a police unit I can join, to help stop the threat of the fragments and help the people?"

- "I'm from Wichita, and there are some strange things happening that I don't quite understand, can you explain what's going on? Is moving to Milwaukee a safer option than staying here?"

- "Hello, I'm an ORIENTAL. What kind of good can I do for Milwaukee?"

- "Can I ask you something, why did Blackstar feel the need to biologically create a new God?"

- "What are some fun things to do in "CHURCH"?"

And just for kicks (probably best to wait after you have an important question answered if you do this)

- "Did you know that Jesus Christ died for our sins?"

Something I forgot to add earlier. Joey said not everyone has a family tree and different people do different things with them. He didn't say to bury it or anything. I wish mike would answer :/

I'm not 100% positive they were trying to create an actual god. Maybe GoDSEED was supposed to be a new power source, and Terry just called it a god because power is so important? Not too sure.

Maybe not, but it's hard to assume anything. Terry does say "a new God". And for some reason it needed to be buried like a Pharoh as though it needed to have some kind of tribute to it. I think if someone asked it would help us know one way or the other.

Thanks for info L0Lz, I've changed my question about Family Trees accordingly.

Anyone else felt maybe we found this a little too early? - It's seeming more and more like Joey is getting real peeved at the amount of calls he continues to get even though he tells people to call Russo (And I'm sure the PMs read here and *know* others have been informed to call Russo first).

And on a side note I'm loving the feel of this, but I live in the U.K I SO Wish it'd turn into something less phone orientated lol.

Edit: Also yeah I'm thinking this whole thing w/ the teens is maybe a 'tribute' to the 'gods' kind of thing; it slightly has that feel.
