Every time I talk with Mike he has said packets will be emalied out on Monday, and that they will answer a lot of the questions people will be having. As much as it frustrates me, I almost wonder if nothing else will happen until then. At least I have the "holiday formerly know as Thanksgiving" (that's what Mike called it last time I called) to keep me busy.

The Milwaukee Tourism Commission is 414-688-7035. Joey usually answers that, as far as I know. This number keeps regular business hours from what I can tell.
Mike's number is 414-688-8914. We've been told we can reach him at night, and I've always talked to him after normal business hours.
The other number we have is from NYPL and is a voice mail box asking for fax numbers. That number is 414-688-8471.

I'm inclined to think that "the area formerly known as Britain" Razz is probably destroyed. The fact that Terry Nanny is being played by someone who is not British seems like an odd thing. Unless they just liked how his voice sounds when he does his Brit accent... Wink

414-688-7035 for the Tourism Commission, where you'll probably get Joey,
and
414-668-8914 for Mike Russo's personal number.

Russo supposedly can be spoken to in the evenings/at night on his number so I don't think the time matters too much.

To call the US from the UK, you need to add 001 to the beginning of the phone number. Smile

No joy right now - he's not picking up. I'll try again a couple more times before I go to sleep.

And I wrote it wrong - Mike Russo's number is 414-688-8914, not 668. My mistake!

EDIT :: No luck. He's not answering the phone, and I've tried a good few times. Booo Sad Guess I'll try again tomorrow... almost 2am here, so better get to bed!

I still don't think he's been asked about Wichita yet. (If someone does, make sure you say you're from Wichita. It's been said he wouldn't say anything about the "recent disturbances" to anyone unless they were "in Wichita".)

I imagine even the MTC might take the day off for Thanksgiving. (er, formerly known as.)

Also, this mention of flax seed twice is puzzling.

I could not confirm that Flax Seed is the chief export of Milwaukee, but from wiki (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flax), the only three states that process flax are North Dakota, South Dakota, and Minnesota.

Industrial machinery is the #1 export of Milwaukee.

Also, I keep looking at the map...it just reminds me of a modified Azimuthal projection:
http://www.progonos.com/furuti/MapProj/Normal/ProjAz/projAz.html

Or perhaps a stretched one...There is a whole list of projections on Wikipedia. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Map_projection
It just doesn't seem (to me) to be of the US.

Edit: Hmmm...So - has anyone posted in the SA forum to see if we can get a site together to collaborate on this? Would make everything soooooo much easier. Perhaps a Google group? Allows discussion, email updates, file uploads, etc etc.
The pbwiki gets my vote, however, for wiki collaboration. I'm more fond of a decentralized wiki system - something that won't go down if hit too much - and pbwiki has a lot of awesome features.

Edit 2: Also - asked around and it seems that currently pbwiki is one of the best collaboration platforms. Just wish we could open it up to the public to edit. Rolling Eyes

After being heavily involved in The Lost Ring earlier in the year, I found the combination of a solely fact-based wiki, the forums here, and an irc channel worked really well.

As a result of that experience, I've been helping a few others get http://mymilwaukee.wikibruce.com set up with all the info to date - which will take a bit longer to do yet (but by all accounts the next major movement in the game probably won't be til Monday).

Anyone can assist with editing it, you just have to sign up first. Smile

Oh, and there is info for the irc channel which is now active on the front page too! (which you can expect to be pretty quiet until there's a few of us regularly logging into it while online...)

I just noticed this.

At 2:52 on the original video (the 'UNDER' part), there's writing on the wall behind Glasses Guy.

There are two numbers. One of them appears to be a 7, and is circled. There might be another number next to it, I can't tell.

Under it a bit, it appears to say '1988'.

I'm not sure the significance, but I thought I'd point it out.

1988. Could that be the year the 300 troubles started? We should try to press for more info on that aspect.

Hey, guys! I've got my new massive-sized video uploaded. It's 1024x768 (using superresolution so that the fewest possible details are lost) and about 500 megabytes. Don't be afraid to download it, I have infinite bandwidth.

http://bunnitude.com/misc/milwaukee/thisismymilwaukee-new.avi

It's H.264; I recommend playing it with VLC Media Player.

Few details not noted (none of which are really important):

- The Worker is the Canning District bartender. He adds far too much salt to the 'margarita'.
- Terry Nanny has a large pile of shoes directly after stopping roller skating. Funny.
- The 'view' is of a crane labeled LOMNIO.
- The Party Leader is wearing either a baseball cap, or a mining helmet!
- The orchestra player is the basketball guy.
