Not Sure Here

As I stated before I am new to this but I did a basic Yahoo! search for Go.D.S.E.E.D. and got this link

http://74.6.239.67/search/cache?ei=UTF-8&p=GO.D.S.e.e.d.&fr=yfp-t-305&u=heypanda.com/&w=d.s.e.e.d.+dseed&d=UYHx0UfiR3on&icp=1&.intl=us

I had to check the cache so I am not sure if it is a blog post that was deleted or something but there is mention to Blackstar and Go.D.S.E.E.D. anyway. I'm still trying to figure out the analytical end of all this so someone with a bit more experience may be able to roll with this.[/url]

So i just got back from the main downtown post office, every PO box there is under the 53201 zip code, and all the box numbers are 4 numbers or less... i was going to ask someone which post office had the 53203 boxes but the line was ridiculously long and i couldnt wait around. I'll go to the other one tomorrow which is on Juneau and Jackson (main one is on St. paul and 3rd street) and see if they have 53203 boxes... if these dont exist, maybe thats another clue for something? just thought id keep everyone updated. more tomorrow

Thanks for doing the leg-work, Flipdagger. As one of those FAR away from Milwaukee, I can say it's very appreciated!

agreed, there is too much at stake here! Im going to go down to the milwaukee post office after work today and confirm that this PO box exists, and see what (if anything) i can find out about who owns it. but i'm afraid the post office probably wont be able to disclose any details...

see this is what i'm wondering too. i did a little investigation on the PO box thing this morning. the thing that i found strange was that the box is numbered in the 500,000s. that seems odd since the box is at the Juneau facility, one of two Milwaukee Post Offices. i find it hard to believe that there are 500,000 PO boxes even counting both Milwaukee facilities. i mean, the total population of Milwaukee proper is only 602,782 and the Milwaukee–Racine–Waukesha Metropolitan Area has a population of 1,964,744. but who knows the numbering system of the boxes.

the other thing i looked into was trying to determine the owner of the box. in doing the research, i found that it is hard to determine the owner on the internet for free. one pertinent fact i discovered was that the owner of a designated business box is public knowledge and the Post Office will give out the information by law. however, if the owner is a private entity, one needs a legitimate reason for the information, such as a court order to serve a subpoena.

at any rate, i'd be very interested in learning what you find out on this front. i was thinking about doing the leg work on this but am just too busy with work/ school right now...

If I had to guess, since this is a relatively new blog post you found, that it was someone talking about the ARG and may have deleted it after finding another community such as UF or SA.

Could someone please PM me a link to a wiki or summary if one exists.
I live in Milwaukee and may be interested but do not have the time to wade through 59 pages of posts.

Looking at the site, it seems like a blogpost. I don't know why he deleted the post, but I'm guessing the original post just links to the TIMM website.

I think the first one is being adopted as the official on.

Thanks for the insight. I am new and very wrapped up in this. I read about ARG's a year or so ago and visited these here forums but I had forgot about them until my editor posted the original TIMM video on the website I write for. I wish I was more analytical but I am hoping to remedy that by participating.

Good to know, if i do end up finding the correct post office/box i will be sure to ask someone working there. maybe they meant for us to try and find out and they made it public! Thanks!

Did a bit of digging in the google cache. Here's the original content of that blog post:

Quote:
So, most of you know that I've been planning a move to Milwaukee come January. What I wasn't sure about was how I was going to fund my move.

A buddy of mine works at Blackstar, and told me about the relocation package they were offering to former employees and residents of Milwaukee. Though I'm not a former employee, He was able to convince his superiors to give me a job with a "downgraded" version of the package. So! That's 5G's and a year of living expenses in the bank! Woo!

I'll be working on software systems and simulations. Apparently the Go.D.S.E.E.D. fragments are still a problem. At least it's under control. Nothing like it used to be.

Wish me luck!

Mason is from Milwaukee, and based on his twitter feed he's aware of ARG and that this is one of them. This Tweet is cached on his site but was apparently deleted from his twitter feed:

(Dug this up from http://masonbrowne.info/page/4, though it will eventually drop to page 5,6,etc... as he tweets more.)

What's it all mean? If I had to speculate, I'd say this is how it went:

1. Mason discovers http://www.thisismymilwaukee.com/ and tweets about it.
2. Mason decides to 'participate' in the ARG, deletes his tweet, and posts the in-character post of someone moving to Milwaukee.
3. Mason decides that posting in character like that is tantamount to trolling the ARG and deletes the aforementioned post. Now everything is deleted and that's why it's only available in Google's cache

In summary, I don't think this is a solid lead. Bummer Sad

First of all, I'm not sure why you refer to the Juneau Station as being one of two Milwaukee post offices. There are at least five. As for the numbering goes, they are not numbered 000001 through whatever, so the PO Box number does not correspond to the amount of PO Boxes that exist in Milwaukee.

Damn fine find. Could it possibly be a lead? Were we supposed search the internet's trash bin?

You are probably correct in the fact that is was someone trolling but this game has me questioning so much that I don't know if I can let go. I don't have the knowledge to do this digging on my own but I will try. I am sure when I hit the proverbial brick wall later tonight I can at least provide you the seasoned a laugh with my novice experience, or lack there of.

I'm sure it couldn't hurt to get in contact with Mason about it. He's definitely a real person though, with a long history on the internet. From http://heypanda.com/ you can get to his twitter, facebook, and a few other things.
