Runner for Zone 7 here
Well, for all it was worth, I picked up the compass here in Tempe and still have it. Our zone only has 4 people playing in it. What we thought was funny is that the helper sheet seemed to be the same for every zone. Which was weird. THe first location was Salt Lake City UTAH, but the funny part was that Ricky never focussed in his reading on Salt Lake City. He made a comment about it as being a beach boys song, and that was it, he stated firmly three other areas. So who knows what the PM's were thinking, but Ricky should have focussed more on salt lake then to make sure I caught the clue.

Now for the rules. We thought that any current runner cannot go 50 miles outside of his hometown. Then would have to hand it off. So how did other zones go 191 miles with one runner?

DJ, I think the travel restrictions only apply to the zone reps. Runners can travel as far as they want / need to, as far as I understand. As for the helper sheet, it appearss that each zone got the same sheet. Each individual picture seemed to sorrespond to a check in location for the seperate zones.

On another note, anybody had any interaction with the X-Factor yet? Still no signs of him, despite all the "big hunt" talk.

Whoa really, maybe I misread the rules of the runner off the compass. Whoops. But Either way, most of the freeways were closed until friday of last week so it would have been a no go anyway.

Yeah man, we had questions about the travle restrictions too. We had to check the SoTM blog on MySpace to be sure. Here's the word from the PMs

"We wanted to clarify a few issues and concerns citizens and runners have expressed to us as well as address the first check-in problem all zones are having. First thing is that Zone Runners DO NOT have to exchange the compass every "x" miles. The travel limitation is only for the Representative, not the Citizens or Runners. One person could travel the entire distance to the check-in if they felt so inclined OR could do an in-person handoff as many times as necessary to get the compass to the check-in (Passing it from Runner to Runner)."

Good luck fightin the weather man. Our runner is having similar issues dodging snow, ice and closed roads. Could make the next leg a lot more interesting...
