I hope this is what they were looking for, this is what I submitted for Zone 8. I stayed behind the camera and let my friend with acting chops take the stage. It was fun to make.

That was great - I embedded it on the wiki - it came out kind of big (I think because it is in HD). If anyone knows how to make it smaller in the embed feel free to adjust it.

"Due to circumstances beyond our control, Something is Coming is being placed on indefinite hold." I think we all know what that really means. Allow me to translate for those who do not, to wit; "Due to the lack of media exposure and national coverage we are abondoning this project to work on something more people will notice."
From all of us that played the game just for the fun of playing the game allow me say "FUCK YOU". I travelled form Texas to Wisconsin to be a part of the "psychic" experience. I got excited enough to ditch work to drive to Dallas to take pics of me holding their flash drive in front of AA Arena. I drove to Oklahoma to deliver the compass in a James Bond style casino meet with BigBrother.
I did these thing willingly because I had fun doing so. I took part in an ARG that was going to change the way the games are played. I put up with the crap from SoTM because it seemed that they were building up to something magnificent. We had a great story in place, teams full of dedicated players doing everything for their zone and a race against time that had everyone involved on the edge of their seat.
But it was not to be. All I want is for them to finish what they started. I know they didn't get the media run they wanted, but they shouldn't fuck up us players who have devoted our time and resources to this adventure.
Thanks and Good Day.

wow.......boy was my victory celebration ever short-lived. If the cancellation was due to a personal emergency or unforseen incident in one of the SotM staff, I offer my condolences and sympathy.
However, if this was due to their lack of motivation to finish the project, I'm sure that would cause anyone who was considering one of their games in the future (myself included) to think twice.
This was ramping up to be a good one. I am sorry to see it fade away unheralded.

I myself and other fellow SoTM veteran players I am sure will agree. This has nothing to do with the amount of how many people are playing or media exposure. The game before this had an average of only 10 people playing for the 9 months of the game. There were hundreds of lurkers that the players did not normaly see. There are without question more people playing this game! It is important to note that SoTM is a very small independent company with limited funding. I hope you can understand and relate on some level. Us veterans got to know a little about the SoTM employees personally as well and know that if this was truly fully over that They would come right out and say it. These guys are very nice and work very hard to give us this entertainment. SoTM has always worked on their own time, NOT actual game time because real life gets involved and they are to small to help this. This announcement is no different.
As for Loki_Khan and his profanity laden feelings of anger. I say right back at you! I recommend that anyone else who feels like this you have two choices. 1 Do as SoTM asks and hang in there because they intend to and want to come back in the future. Or 2 you can follow Loki_Khan and get the hell out of here because we don't need that kind of attitude around in our fun ARG world anyway. Loki_Khan sounds like he had fun for all of the things he did. Why not just take that away from the game instead of looking at it and announcing such selfish, venomous remarks.

Greystone,
you make some good points and I can appreciate your position. I, however, have not had previous dealings with SoTM, so I can not vouch for whether or not they are "good guys" or "nice guys" or a "swell bunch of super great guys". All I have to judge from is my experience with Something is Coming. And unfortunately, SiC has been mismanaged abd poorly handled almost from the beginning.
Do I need to list the multitude of delays and missed deadlines throughout the project? Do I need to link to the SoTM posts which ranged from obtusive to downright insulting to the players? Do i need to point you towards the shameless pleading from SoTM for their players to spread the word to every media outlet we could get intouch with?
There were things about this game which I liked very much and for a brief time I had an absolute blast with it. However, my patience wore very thing after months of absolutely zero communication from SoTM. I appreciate the effort and creativity of the SiC project, however it was apparant that the game was designed for a mucher larger player base than was secured and suffered greatly for it.
If you are happy with the results of tSiC, then by all means continue your support for SoTM. I will be doing as you suggested and getting the hell out. I will not spend my time and money on a company that simply gives up on a tough project when things dont go their way, regardless of what great guys they are.
Good Luck to you,
Loki

No response wanted Loki_Khan.
Just have a nice day and go away.
Oops, there I go again stepping up to the plate and hitting the other players with my baseball bat again. Those who know me have seen me do this when things happen unjustly.
A bad habit I just can't seem to stop.
I guess that is why my fellow Union Steward buddies call me Skywalker. God know I didn't choose that nickname.

On Hold...Not Over
Category: Games
Yesterday, we posted a blog stating that the production has been placed on indefinite hold. This is not an attempt at abandoning the production. On Monday morning, Josh Mobley resigned from the company and with him we also lost some of the talent that was working on the production. Josh's departure was huge as he was the director and one of the driving forces behind Something is Coming.
A chat will still be held in the near future where you can tell us what we can do to keep this production going. In the meantime, we are working on finding replacements for those that have left the company and/or production which is going to take time. The concensus amongst those still involved in the production is that they want to continue as well.
We know that many of you out there put a lot of time and money into traveling for this production and the last thing we want is to let you down. Right now however, we need some time to sort things out and pick up the pieces.
